This is the title Discourse lets me put in as a MMP

The Kohler product is very high quality stuff. Also, for a shower stall, code requires a 2" drain, so that had to be replumbed. The grab bars will support 300 pounds and are installed with 3" lag bolts into the studs. There was also a new mixing valve and shower head. The 3-man crew was here for four days and knew their business.

Mrs. L.A. texted me today suggesting steak salads for dinner. I got a bag-o-salad on the way home, and we sliced up her leftover half of the rib-eyes we had the other night.

That got me wondering, too, so I researched and now wish I hadn’t. It was founded by Nils August Johanson, a Swedish surgeon. Until 1967, you had to be Swedish to be on the board. OK. But then the Seattle Times documented

the pervasive inability of doctors to read labs, charts, and progress notes or to even prescribe basic pre-cautionary antibiotics for patients who were suspected of having infections threatening their lives and limbs.

And there was a huge nurses strike last January. AND the hospital requires workers to exhaust their own sick leave and vacation days before it will cover 80 hours of leave for COVID.

I don’t like any of that. I hope the doc can read my chart. My history is kind of important.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. there’s an owl outside my window.

He’ll end up building giant Japanese Fighting Robots. :grinning:

Good luck with the hospital, Nellie.

I suggested that rather than build a remote controlled mower, he could just build a robot to push our push-mower. How cool would that be???

Wouldn’t you know - the one morning I was sleeping like the dead, I was awakened by the alarm because I have to take Roxy today. Plus it’s supposed to rain today and tomorrow and into Firday. Dammit. It’s a real challenge trying to entertain a toddler in the house. She’s still too young to get into stuff like making cookies. And even if I were so inclined, she won’t sit in front of the TV all day. She no longer likes being read to, except at bedtime. But she does like coloring and drawing, two things that I sucketh at… It’s gonna be a day.

Happy Wednesday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. However, looks like Zeta may be stoppin’ by to say howdy, so probably rain beginnin’ late this evenin’ and all day tomorrow, with possible high winds and the apocalypse. Today we shall lay in provisions. Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread.

MOOOOOOM have fun RoxStar wranglin’.

doggio, Miss_Owl was outside your window?

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, woe, despair, I suppose I must needs purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Bogging…usually means something is horrible, think of something you find in the back of the fridge that’s rotten and smells awful, and you have to hold it at arm’s length whilst holding your breath just to get it into the bin. Then take the bin outside and hose it down to get rid of the smell. That’s bogging.

As far as the samosas were concerned, he put some spices in at the end that should have gone in earlier, and used (I think) fenugreek instead of fennel, and overcompensated with garam masala. Basically they tasted like a potato curry mixture wrapped in spring roll pastry, instead of the delicately-spiced potato mix our favourite Indian deli lady makes. Not bad for a first attempt, he just needs to get the right balance of spices for the filling, and use one sheet of pastry instead of two.

Laved, shaved and actually going in to school today. Power outages earlier this week screwed up our schedule, so today is a “do-over” for Monday classes. Then it’s a quick shopping trip for cat fud and such.

Happy Hump Day!

Best of luck to you - let us know how it goes. I hope you heal quickly post-surgery and I’m glad that it was caught sooner rather than later.

Today’s our first meeting with the cancer docs. Oncologist this afternoon, radiologist tomorrow morning. By then we should know what course of action mom’s doc recommends.

I should’ve gone to bed earlier last night, but I watched the new Borat movie and knitted instead, even though I had to get up early this morning. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get as much out of Borat as I would’ve out of sleep. Now I’m watching the birds have a cage match outside my window over who gets to try to drill a hole in one of the wood posts on our porch. I hope the little guys wins. Of course, I’ll chase him off anyway, but I love a good underdog.

Morning all. Stayed up until just after midnight, so stayed in bed until 8:45. Did get up to micturate at around 5am and my passage of water meant it was time for the heavens to open, the rain started heavy and is still raining heavy as I type. Depending on where the systems south of me (right now about the Miss/Ala border) go, it could be like this all day. So being inside is a good thing…at least the temperature is still 68F and going to about 73F today.

nellie, eeek, hope you get the good doctors (there has to be some).

cookie, quietly, I’ve never owned an air fryer, may have to look into one.

OK, sounds like the rain is abating for a bit. Need Sallit fixings and bananas from the store, so may venture out for a quick run to the store (a new umbrella might be a good idea too…)

It’s Wednesday and I’m just now showing upmto MMP? Horrors!

Life moves at a slower pace in AZ.

We arrived on Sunday, slept IN OUR OWN BED DAMMIT and then woke up Monday AM to…snow? This sky is blue and the sun is out in full force, so that should melt most of it.

We’re doing the walk-in tub. There are a plethora of things that need doing, so the master bath gets the new tub and a makeover, and there will be new floors throughout the house.

(Side note: may the creator of tan/beige carpeting be doomed to the lowest circle of Hell, to burn throughout Eternity)

We were quoted $15K for the tub. Several years ago. Keep in mind we have a pitiful, bottom-of-the-line mobile home, with doorways just barely wide enough to accommodate the smallest model.

The walk-in tub is for Mr VOW. He LOVES a bath, and his Parkinson’s will continue to affect his mobility.

We just need to STAY in AZ long enough to get the work done. Probably post-COVID.

Excuse me. I have more “nothing” to do. That’s our specialty here in AZ!

~VOW

So something got spilled on the belt, and wrecked it. So we had to do 4 hours work in 2. At least it was chemicals, and not any of the biological samples we ship. Not that those would cause a problem if leaked. : scatches wing with anterior tentacle :

She does know where I live. :open_mouth:

VOW! there never a bad time to drop into a MMP!.

Good luck with the surgery, Hippie!

Boy, are my wings tired!! :owl:

Well, someone has to make sure you get up and off to sort (and for a small price, I’ll tell you all what I saw through said window).

I also know where FCM and Spidey live … hmmmmm …

If you’re my FB friend, you’ve already seen how a certain grandfather is spoiling Roxy. At the moment, tho, she’s napping, so I get a little break.

I tried to find this thread, but it kept scrolling down and scrolling down and nothing I could do would stop it. That is, until I took my phone off the space bar. DUH!! Technology is sneaky!

It’s time to take advantage of the quiet before moving on to yet another chore. It never ends, does it?

Great word! You did a outstanding description of it. Gonna use bogging every chance I get, after all, much of my life is bogging right now. I’m entitled-more of my forebears are Scottish than anything else. Throw in the Welsh and I’m fiery and persistence personified.

I’ll PM you where I live so you can know where I live too~I could use some visitors. No need to bother with peering in the windows, nothing interesting ever happens in my creaky old house. Once cold weather comes I’m never without 3 layers of clothes and a lap blanket.

I think I need to trade locales with some of you. I hate the heat and would love me some winter.

I spent time last night looking for dachshunds. They sound like awesome dogs. I gave up on my dream once I realized that they are likely to hunt my cats. Boo.

I’ve got paperirk to do today. It’s important and I need to do it. I’m not sure it will happen today though.

Maybe more coffee? I’ll try that.

Learned a new word today: micturate. And this sentence paints quite the picture.

Had to get up before 5:00 to get to the office so I could spend most of the day wearing a headset for meetings. Would have preferred doing something a bit more productive when I have the advantage of the work network.

Combined last weekend’s time change, I has a tired, so catching up on the DOPE and might do some internet searching for a small food processor. We’ll still do carry out, but eating in a restaurant is out except for days we’re in the office.

I found reviews of the specialist, and they’re all excellent. Her office called me to confirm the appt. and told me the main entrance is closed, so I should enter via the skyway from the parking garage. I’ll be walking from the hotel, so I’ll be walking into the parking garage. Hopefully there’ll be someone to ask, as stumbling around getting close enough to signs to read 'em is not my best subject.

Moooom, when my young’uns were toddlers, I used to play “Animals” with them: Can you (slither like a snake, hop like a frog, crawl like a bug, swim like a fish, etc.)? OK, I had to demonstrate slithering and fish-swimming, but only once. I could tire 'em out by having them hop over yonder to pretend to catch a yummy bug, etc. Gosh, I miss those days.

Swampy and all you in Zeta’s path, hope she’s kindly. Stay safe!

52 and cloudy, with a predicted high of 55. Cloudy tonight, then rain all day Thu & Fri – and then it drops to below freezing. Think I’ll finally shut the window next to my desk this evening…

Leftover veggies (cabbage, potatoes and carrots, which were cooked in the pan with the corned beef a few days ago) for lunch; stew is in the crockpot for supper.

Training session for poll workers this evening; I’ll be a checker again, verifying names and addresses. Along that line, I’d like to encourage all you yanks to vote, even if you’re such an idiot you don’t vote the way I do.

Afternoon all. Rain has slowed but not gone away, still managed to get my shopping done and noon-time meal has been consumed, so not much happening.

Dice, learned that word years ago, can’t for the life of me remember where, but I just think it sounds cooler that the other terms we use for a natural action–and people learn things–win/win!

nellie, hope the specialist lives up to their reviews. Safe travels.

Sunny, wiener dogs are great pets, but they tend to be very territorial in my memory and they are hunting dogs, so yeah, getting them to suddenly live with cats might be interesting…

If any of you come to North Ali-bama (no idea why you would do such a thing), let me know and I’ll either provide an address or arrange to meet you.

Ok, back to watching soccer for a couple of hours. All Sudoku’s and Jumble solved from the newspaper, so can watch the game.

All y’all take care.
