There are a plethora of ATMB threads criticizing moderators and their moderation. This one is not. This thread is to highlight an instance where the moderation was appropriate and timely. In the thread When why how did attitudes towards rape victims change?@Aspenglow politely and clearly explained why moderation was needed and a request to continue the interruption in a different thread.
It’s nice of you to say. I think the mods in general here try to be polite and explain why they take the actions they take. Hearing a note of appreciation is much welcomed. Thanks for taking a moment to share your thoughts.
I want to wade in here and state categorically that the moderation on this board is overall excellent, and the mods play a large role in keeping the Dope a pleasant, civilized place to read and post. Yes, even in the Pit this site is head and shoulders above the swamps elsewhere online.
Thank you, mods, for doing such a good job, often thankless and even carped at, but vital and much appreciated.
I guess it’s of note that I even participated in that thread, mostly because of the moderation. In the past I had to step out of those threads because of the terrible attitudes toward rape victims that posters were permitted to share. I knew that wouldn’t happen here, not anymore. Moderators have changed this place for the better.
