Mein Gott! Ok so I should have said -
" straight men have sex with women"
So fucking what, I never knew lesbians were this pedantic.

First your on about the straight people, and now your on about the Irish. What have the Irish ever done to you? Why not pick on someone who deserves it like the Canadians?

Dude! You know Sven and Lars, too?
Although, if a gay man was chasing an 8 year old boy, he would be a fucked up freak.
My daughter is 11 and in her class the word to describe anything weird is “gay” we have also explained to her why not to use that word in a negative context or in any context other than that of describing a gender preference (or whatever the term is.) However, she keeps using it occasionally, purely out of habit, and everytime she does she looks at me with a guilty start and says, “Wierd! I mean weird.”
I am slowly getting through
Rogets suggests using these words to replace quaff - carouse, down, gulp, guzzle, imbibe, ingurgitate, partake, sip, sup, swallow, swig, toss
So I gues that about covers everything to do with drinking a beverage.
And when I used the word I did envison spillage + a large nose inadvertantly blowing bubbles in the wine.
Or playing tag. I mean, come on…everything’s not dirty!

smam, based on your use of the language, my guess is that you are “on the other side of the pond” (so to speak). I don’t know how things are over there, but here it seems that every time someone is bashing gays, the specter of child molestation is raised. This is the source of my problem with your little joke. I get that you thought that you were being funny, but when you make statements to the effect that other posters are soon to come along and accuse an 8-year-old boy of being closeted you are (in my opinion) speaking in a hateful way. I can’t think of an out poster on this board that would make such a statement.
I am far from being the only poster in this thread that is calling you on being at best foolish, but for some reason you have decided to make me the focus of your ire. That is pretty much fine, and if it makes you happy them by golly more power to you. It will not change the fact that you really seem to have some problematic attitudes.
I am most interested in your bleating insistence that I am being a bigot, coupled with this weird notion that it is somehow a negative quality to be concerned about offending others (you use the term Politically Correct). Your weird class-based statements are also rather interesting. I am sure that we really don’t have much to talk about, because it is my belief that the way that we use our words is important and as a part of that we must be mindful of the way that these words can hurt others that do not belong to the same group that we do. You, on the other hand, seem perfectly content to use your keyboard to vomit up whatever detritus seems to be in your stream of consciousness at the moment.
So, I have stated that I have a stereotyped vision of the straight mainstream culture. My thought on this is that, because this segment of culture dominates the world in which I live, that it is not all that astonishing that I look around, dislike most of the effect of this culture that I see and then am complemented when someone from another group assumes that I do not belong to that culture.
Politically, I am not sure that it is possible to be bigoted about the dominant culture. It may be that I have a different operation definition of bigotry that you do, but to me bigotry implies some level of a power imbalance, as well as the ability for the group to which the bigot belongs to do harm. For instance, as a white straight male, at least in a tertiary way I have the ability to participate in institutions that discriminate and deny equal access to societies institution to minorities. Arguably, I also benefit from the equality that exists. With that in mind, I am not sure how being critical (even to the point of having a level of shame) about the mainstream would fall under the category of bigotry. It may be that my thinking about the group to which I belong is not as nuanced as it could be, but I am not sure that you could say much more.
Wait a minute your problem with my joke was that I was somehow contributing to "the specter of child molestation " that is linked when someone takes a pot-shot at gays?
Well that is news to me (and probably to you as well) because when you 1st came in your main point I gleaned was that in your opinion gay people do not act in the way my joke alledged.
Then someone mentions child botherers and suddenly that becomes your reason???
So when I said earlier “So given that, what the hell is/was (because it could have changed depending on the mood of the general demographic) your point anyway binarydrome?” I must have been psychic because it looks like you have flipped your motives to match that of someone else who has posted in here.
I just think you came in here with a idea of e-kicking my ass but did not really think it through. For all your long posts I just dont think you have a lot to say.
My stream of consciousness just prompted me to wonder whether posters burn more calories in the pit as opposed to IMHO.But I digress.
Just to go into some detail (in a not much and broad sort of way) on my feelings towards political correctness. I just think there is no charisma in it and people who are grounded in reality tend to look at each other and think “What is this non-entity talking about” when speaking to people who take PC to extremes. I feel that PC terms can be used by racists to hide their racism. I mean if you call a dwarf or a midget a height challenged person you are still defining them by their height or lack of it. I am not rascist, I have never seen the use in it, to use someones colour to insult them just makes the insultor (is that a word?) look stupid.
I am a young, white, male and if I was to ask whether a black guy would rather speak to a PC term spouting person or just a guy who would shoot the shit with him then I think I know the answer. To use PC terms means you have already brought the issue into your head of the terms you should not use in the first place, and the person you use pc terms to will realise you are already defining them by the thing that racists use to insult them, and that will taint the conversation. I dont feel I have to be activly politically correct because the political issue does not enter my head in the first place.
This was your original joke. I had a problem with is and called you a dick. See how simple that is? I also rebutted the other points that you made when you attempted to explain what the hell you were talking about.
Also, you should know that I never have as a motive “e-kicking ass”. I am sure that if you were to read other posts of mine, you would notice that I make a very strong effort to be civil.
And this is where you are either wrong, naïve, or in denial. I think that the OP demonstrates quite well how bigotry and prejudice insidiously finds it’s way in to our thinking at a very early age (my apologies in advance if you grew up in some egalitarian utopia that I have not heard of to date). For me, at least, this is something that is very important to be aware of and to guard against. Because we are a quite language centered as a species, the way that we use our words is a good place to start.
The point is well made that if you use terms like “Vertically Challenged” that you are still defining people by their height. However, I have never actually heard that term (or many others) used except by folks that are trying to mock the politically correct.
Dude I totally wrecked your posts. You are just trying to score points with people on the board by typing stuff that in your mind they think is the correct and proper way of thinking.
I never had a stance. You claimed one thing , then after another poster posted you claimed you were actually thinking what he was thinking.
I pointed out that you were stereotyping gays and your in relpy you said you did not but you did stereotype heterosexuals in a way that suggested that gay people are not capable of certain bad things unmentioned. So by doing that you stereotyped gays again.
Hell later on I even gave two responses that you could have given to my first post directed at yours that would have blown me away and left me with nowhere to go. If I can do it then why can’t you.
Just admit it I toppled you from your high horse, cut off the horses balls and then stuffed them in your mouth…e-style.
You had a lot to type but not a lot to say. I have explained why I entered into this topic but if I ask you a third time you will probably give me a different reason for you being here depending on which way the wind is blowing. So piss off and chill out. You called me a dick and I called you a shite-bag. At least a dick is a symbol of manhood. A shite-bag where I come from means someone who is soft and willing to bend and comply to whatever other people think they should. Maybe one day I will call you a dick and you can then feel like you have done something worthwhile to earn such a proud title.
Dude, I guess that you e-kicked my ass.
True enough
Now I know why I will never win a humanist award, I tend to contemplate about the worst in people I don’t know :smack:
See, now you are even talking like me!!!1. Is there no-ones identity you won’t stoop to steal? I hear December is quite nice this time of year;) .
Yes, pit writers do burn more calories that IMHO imho.
