Burgers 'n fries ingested along with key lime pie. Movie to commence shortly. A wild Sattidy night at da cave!
I guess that’s a sign of aging when that sounds like a nice Saturday night.
Our truck better be happy. We’ve never given it a name, and after 90,000 miles, I suspect we never will. It will just need to be satisfied with about $1300 worth of maintenance, all with the intent of 2,800 uneventful miles pulling The Long Long Trailer.
And you didn’t bring pie here to the MMP for the rest of us?
Home from work. More tomorrow.
Happy Father’s Day to all the MMP dads out there! You know who you are.
Good grief, it’s early. I’ve spent the evening doing some rearranging/cleaning of the kitchen. Now, I’m bored. My husband won’t be home until next weekend, as this is his weekend to work. So, that’s part of the reason I’m bored. Maybe if I wander off to bed, I’ll fall asleep. I’m not really tired, yet. Stupid sleep.
At least it’s supposed to turn into a beautiful, warm day, with a high of around 85°. That’ll be nice. Maybe I’ll go out to the gardens, and fiddle around out there. I’m sure there are weeds that can be pulled, and flowers to deadhead. That’ll keep me occupied for a little while. Probably keep me out of trouble, too. That’s always a good thing, right? :dubious:
Have a good day, everyone.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 92 for the day. A typical June day down heah in swampland.
gotti it was, indeed, a nice Sattidy evenin’. We watched the movie which was a source of much merriment cause it’s just dang funny. JDD and Partner went home about a quarter of ten and OYKW and I went to bed. Wild men we are!
Rosie I have a mental image of He-bud walkin’ around sayin’ “How YOU doin’?”
Nettie see there was pie for dessert after dindin and then pie at the movie break. The great thing about watchin’ a movie at home is one can pause the movie for a bathroom and pie break. Win-Win!
Ok, that’s all I got. Need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. I am Lector (not the cannibal kind) at the early service today so purtification for deheathenization Luterun style must also commence at some point soonish. After that I shall return to da cave to make a sorta brunch of salmon patties, English peas, smashed N.O.T., and bizkits as promised. Then I foresee a lazy afternoon.
Happy Sunday Y’all! Happy Father’s Day to all the Mumper fathers!
I can hardly believe it’s 55° this morning! How glorious!! I know it won’t last, but I’m loving it as long as it does.
I looked at the forecast for next weekend when we’re supposed to be going to Cumberland, and there’s some serious threats of t-storms, which wouldn’t necessarily be a big deal, but **FCD **was going to ride his bike there and back… We shall see if it happens after all.
Nothing planned for today - I think I’ll have some studio time. And we’ll probably start with breakfast out. But that’s all I can think of. Plans can be grossly overrated.
Happy Daddy’s Day to all the daddies out there. I miss mine…
I’ll have to teach him that one along with “Dude! That’s my SISTER!”
**Happy Fathers’ Day to all Dads, Brothers, Uncles, and anyone else on a Dad-gig!
**
Happy Father’s Day!!!
Although if Gordie gives me a “present” he’ll get a beating.
Up, caffeinated, off to work.
swampy, I’m glad you’re a non-cannibal Lector. Although I’m sure your fellow parishioners are people of good taste.
For your skeevy moment of the day, I’m hear to brag that I held hands with a 9 year old girl this morning.
Seems I went fishing, and caught 2 very nice redeyes that are now chillaxin’ in my freezer. While I was there, a family set up nearby, consisting of Mom, Dad, and 3 girls. Soon they all had bobbers in the water.
Kate, the oldest girl, was near me and snagged on the bottom. Dad broke her line and put new stuff on her line. Meanwhile, her bobber came free and headed in my direction. Bobbers, while inexpensive, are the hardest things to do without especially if you went fishing light. I managed to corral it among some tree roots, but could not reach it without falling in. So I called Kate over, told her I had her bobber, but could not reach it 'cuz I’m old and fat; she should not have a problem.
So she tried, and repositioned to try again. This time, I took her right hand and held on, and she snatched the bobber right up. Everyone was happy, and I even got a thank you from Dad for both the tackle rescue and helping his daughter.

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization Luterun style. Got the oven pre-heatin’ for bizkits and shall shortly start cookin’.
Good for you BBBobbio! BBBobbio saves a bobber. Film at eleven.
doggio do we want parishoners with good taste or parishoners that taste good?
Ok, enough of this frivolity. Off to whomp up some vittles.
Laterz!
Back from breakfast - Cracker Barrel was crowded!! We ran into Lowe’s afterwards and scored some batteries with a rebate. We were out of AAs anyway, and for buying more than $10 of Energizers, we’ll get a $5 Lowe’s card. So our 24-pack will effectively cost $7.97 instead of $12.97 so yay!
Daughter just called to talk to her dad. I’m about to head to my studio. Life is good.
**BBBobbio **- your definition of skeevy is a bit different from mine. But good on ya anyway.
Skeevy works if you think I’m an old weirdo hitting on 4th graders. The rest of the story is to dispel that idea.
Nice save, Bobbio!
Laundry to do today then a friend is coming over for dinner and a movie.
**BBBobbio **- I think you’re an old weirdo regardless of your interactions with anyone of any demographic. So you’re good there.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Fathers Day
It’s a beautiful day. I don’t know for how long but right now I’ve got the window open and am enjoying the breeze and quiet.
I am a slug today, I didn’t wake until 10:30 am.
It’s also an annoying day already because somebody didn’t replace the TP in the bathroom. There were a few squares left on the roll and no rolls left under the sink. Then somebody left the bathtub full of hair. I don’t know if they plunged the drain and left the mess for somebody else to clean up or what.
**Flytrap ** I don’t want to encourage squealing.
Spidey, no other dog can make my pup look bad. My dog is the bestest dog in the world and that’s a fact.
I got tired of all the meds and cleaners I’ve been using on his ear and started using straight peroxide. I don’t pour it in, I squirt it in and Sah-dog likes it. Instead of fighting me he actually comes and gets me and heads for the deck. Everything I’ve read says not to do it everyday but for once the infection is clearing up, he’s not scratching his ear anymore and he’s been acting perkier.
Good on you Bobbio.
I need to get up and get going, get some things done around here.
Flattery will get you everywhere.
Happy Father’s Day to those of you who are, or who celebrate it. I don’t really celebrate it, my father passed away nearly 30 years ago so when it comes round to important dates like birthdays, anniversary and Father’s Day, I buy flowers instead. Yesterday I picked up two gorgeous Dutch sprays, one cream and one dark purple, so they are sitting in a vase in front of the fireplace.
It’s been a busy day here, I’ve changed bedding, done laundry, made fresh bread, vacuumed, done a workout and now I’m rewarding myself with a nice soaky bath. I also took the nail varnish off my toes, might put some more on later. Then again, I might not. It’s that kind of evening.
The neighbour (Reggae Retard) has kids around today so there is much plenty squealing and shrieking. Fortunately I have a very powerful stereo and a large collection of rock/metal to choose from. When the shrieking gets too bad, I put something louder on. Let’s just say that we had to start at 10am with Lamb of God and proceed from there.
N.O.L. got cooked and et and then I had a nap. Thus goeth Sunday at da cave.
Heh. Love seeing that you’re such a good influence on the Rosebuds, rosie.
Nephew is home! Nephew is home! Nephew is home!
He wasn’t supposed to come back until next week, but secretly came back with my brother yesterday. I was out in the garden planting or weeding or doing some other garden-y thing when brother came home. I saw him pull in, but didn’t look at the car very closely.
After a while, brother came out and asked me to come in and help him with a decision. He pulled me into nephew’s room and asked me whether the lump on the bed looked human. (He has a loft and you sometimes have to climb the stairs to figure out if he’s actually in his bed.) Nephew had snuck out of the car when I wasn’t looking.
I was all
last night.
I’ve done some more stuff in the garden this morning (went to a really nice nursery with a friend yesterday and got some stuff on sale), but am now taking a break to work on picture stuff for my mom
Hope everyone’s having a good day.
**Happy Father’s Day **to all who celebrate!
Hugs all.
GT
gt killded the MMP! Speakin’ of gt I hear she’s all excitated about sump’n but I can’t quite put my finger on it. She usually only gets this excitated when the nephew is home.
I have successfully removed a couple layers of filth from da cave. Go Me!
