This town is too small- an OKCupid story

Grats!

  • In before “If this thread had the gender roles reversed, there would be way more jeering and criticizing” (though in fairness the OP did get a few snide remarks)

I feel like if the gender roles were reversed, there would be less jeering. What’s unusual about a youngish single guy following up with a girl he met in a club who seems game, or making a date on OKCupid with a cute girl?

Do guys not look at the profile pics on OKCupid, relying instead on deep textual analysis of the profile or something?

It would be more the bragging about all the hot girls he’s got on his rolodex that he’s simultaneously playing which would draw the board’s wrath.

I live in a weird city where everyone seems to know everyone else, through maybe two degrees of separation if not directly.

So when I joined eHarmony, in the first week I got matched with (1) a guy I had met at house parties already, and (2) a guy whose profile picture was him with somebody I worked with.

A few weeks later I was matched with the man who became his husband. He had just gotten divorced from the best friend of the host of those house parties.

lmao I was wondering—were you showing the “two” guys different sides of your personality? That would really be funny if he thinks you’re Sybil… I agree; check them out first. Then see what’s under the skin.
Happy hunting.

(sigh) … the man who became my husband…

Baby no nap today. Mommy brain fried.
