Toadying? Me? I’m not one to complain about the mods as I generally think they’re doing good work given the circumstances, but I’m also not standing up for them in every circumstance on every issue, either. Far from it: I generally avoid the threads about moderation because of the inevitable meltdowns they become.
As for calling bubastis a moron and predicting that he/she/it won’t last long here: bubastisis a moron, and my prediction is based on years of experience watching just that kind of moron burn too many bridges and ending up getting thrown out on his ear to the general applause of the regulars. bubastis has thus far shown a real lack of comprehension about how things work around here, a complete inability to take correction gracefully, and a kind of whining ‘be nice to me, you big meanies’ demeanor that generally goes over like a wet turd around here. The first and last can be tolerated assuming the querulous querent eventually learns the ropes, but the middle is the kiss of death.
It always struck me as strange that people do that, but now I know why.
It just never occured to me that neatness was such a factor and that more than one person would actually report a misplaced thread and flood mail boxes. This is a well oiled machine.
