This will be my summer drink

You–and I cannot stress this enough–are welcome

I should thank you for showing me something that is not being sold anywhere near me?

It does sound good. Where can this be had?

No offense, but it looks as horrible as Naturdays, strawberry lemonade flavored Natty light.

Moving this to Cafe society.

So not Peepsi?

Does that can say it’s 9% alcohol? That’s packing a pretty good punch for a commercial hard lemonade product. Those things are always too sweet for my taste, though.

Is it really gin in a can, or is it a malt beverage made to taste like gin in a can?

I like the Last Word, although I use Yellow Chartreuse for a mellower drink.

Here’s my drinking magnum opus so far. It’s a spreadsheet that calculates how to make some popular frozen drinks in a specific way.

Frozen drinks recipes

Basically they are frozen drinks with the texture of a restaurant/bar style frozen margarita (small ice crystals, etc…) without needing a slurpee-type machine. And you’re not blending ice either. Basically what these do is balance the alcohol, sugar and water such that they freeze mostly, but not completely solid, and then you blend them with whatever fruit juice it calls for, and you end up with a fantastic frozen drink.

The daiquiri recipe is straight from Dave Arnold’s “Liquid Intelligence”, and the margarita is a riff off of that which I developed through lots of arduous testing. I’m pretty proud of it! The tiki drink is sort of an amalgamation of a bunch of tiki drinks from “Smuggler’s Cove” and the Beachbum Berry books, adapted for this frozen drink method.

Real gin.

Looks promising, then. I’ve been fooled a few times with malt liquors masquerading as something more.

Perhaps you have influenced me after all and they are local to me. Although for me its more along the lines of taking flavored spirits and mixing them myself with sugar free lemonade sports drinks since I am a diabetic. But its got me thinking of expanding my drinking hobby.

If I’m honest this will be for special occasions; my daily 'bibe is Vodker-n-Fresca.

There are a lot of canned cocktails out now. Some of the are very regionalized. Many of them are pretty good. Also, bottled cocktails that are “higher class” than your TGIFs mudslides. (There is a bottle of Tattersalls Old Fashioned waiting to be opened when my husband gets home). But you want the canned cocktails, not the malt liquor crap.

Cheers! :beers:

Sorry, nothing canned is even close to my beloved G & Ts. Interesting combo of flavours though.

I stopped at a liquor store yesterday afternoon and I kept an eye out for the OP’s beverage of choice to see if they carried it (I’m in Michigan so I thought there’d be a fair chance) but they did not.

I found it Binny’s, if that helps at all

Why don’t we have a SDMB Bar forum? Call it « Cecil’s Joint ».
