In Michigan (Detroit Suburbs)we have had frequent rains that have kept puddles around continuously. The breeding ground for mosquitoes has been ideal. They are in clouds. I take my dogs for 2 walks in the park every day. Beagles have no interest in walking in the open areas. They want to run through the brush and trees and woods. That is where the animals are. I get 20 lumps on my neck and arms every time we go. I squish them as they suck blood. Beagle beaks look like they have teen acne when we get home. But there are deer ,rabbits and groundhogs to track. To them it is worth it.
