Duke, I wouldn’t say that I’m back per se, I was pointed to this thread on LJ and thought I’d say hi since a bunch of people I remembered from back in the day were coming out of the woodwork. In case anyone is interested in my Brief Life Summary, I switched over from linguistics to speech therapy, finished school, and started working in geriatric rehab. A lot of stroke recovery and so forth, and I love it.
I decided I wanted to see the world before I got settled down so I saved up for a few years and bought a round-the-world ticket. I’m about 2/3rds of the way through a 9 month trip to 12 countries, although I’ve mostly based myself out of Australia. Next week I’ll be in New Zealand, though, and then at the end of the month I’ll be in SE Asia. I’ll be home in mid-November, at which point I’m planning on moving to Boston and going back to geriatric rehab.
So I suppose I’ll check in 'round the end of November. But life is fantastic.
