mmmmmmmm toenail clippings…
6 ounces butter
3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
7/8 cup light cream(half and half)
1/8 cup(two tablespoons) orange marmalade
3.5 ounces dried apricots, chopped fine
3.0 ounces cranberry raisins
Cut the flour, sugar, bp and salt into the butter until the mix is a flaky texture. Toss with the dried apricots and cranberry raisins. Make a well in the dry mix and add the egg, cream and marmalade. Mix just enough for the dry to absorb the wet ingredients. Gather the dough into a ball and roll into a flat disk, cutting it into eight parts. Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until lightly browned. You can make smaller scones by dividing the dough in half, rolling and cutting into a smaller disk and again cutting into eight parts.
OMG…you are awesome. I should really make them but we are making bread pudding with whiskey sauce tonight…I will make scones though. bows to Baker
Welcome back, Eve. Nice to see you.
But you haven’t sung Everything’s As If We Never Said Goodbye yet and it took me forever to find a combination ring-cigarette holder that matches an ocelot fur lined gold lame kaftan!
I guess I should go on vacation more often. I leave for five days and look what happens while I’m gone. Welcome back Eve!
Just promise us you won’t disappear entirely. Post an occasional bon mot or two to raise the overall tenor of the board.
Well hi there, Eve!
I was just thinking that it’s kinda sad that I hardly see any names here that I recognize anymore, and here you are! Cool.
Signed: Another long-time poster who mainly lurks here nowadays.
Isn’t getting annoyed and into trouble what one goes to New York City for, as well? Then again, New York does have the theatre, which seems to be sorely lacking in the Pit.
Hi, Eve! We have missed you so much. Please don’t stay away so long, next time.
The Pit has theater, but that’s a whole different ball game.
Yes Eve, please do stick around awhile. I wanna know there’s someone who will understand when I make references to prehistoric pop songs.
(totally off topic)
You make a distinction between “theatre” and “theater”? What’s the distinction?
“Theater” is American. “Theatre” is British. “Theay-ter” is a touring stock company production of East Lynne.
Same here…I was just reading the “Ross & Rachel” thread, saw Eve’s name, and thought “Ah, crap…I’m wasting time in another thread from four yea…waitaminute!”.
Very nice of you to drop by!
Ahh, yes! East Lynne…complete with tinny piano and Oleo Acts.
Hello, Eve. I played that tinny piano for East Lynne at a theay-ter once. That’s been almost fifty years ago. I’m still in touch with a few of the cast members.
Glad you came back so that I can find out the correct number of strands of pearls to wear this fall. Has it changed?
What’s up in publishing?
It will *never *change: one or three strands. Five if you are a dowager empress with a stately monobosom.
Not my royalties, that’s for damn sure.
Eve, I don’t know you, but I’ve been here long enough to have noticed other posters allude to your posts. You are infamous here. Don’t disappear again.
Wrong! It is now and always has been, one strand plus one additional strand per neck wattle.
How are you doing vix? I haven’t seen you around in a long time.
Oh sure, wait till I leave for vacation!
Welcome back, hope you stick around for a while.
