I think about strange things when I’m falling asleep sometimes. I’ve already posted about the last one, the endless battle between monkeys and chickens, and now I have another, and an odd coincidence.
My thoughts somehow veered to politics and old movies; I kept thinking “Dark Reagan… Dark Reagan… Michael Reagan… Darth Reagan.” Darth Reagan it is, then. I googled it and what do you think I found but a well-done 3D render of the Gipper as a Sith Lord! Sadly, a subsequent search for Obi-Wan Dukakis wasn’t nearly as successful.
So my subconscious is a joke writer from twenty-five-plus years ago. What do you think about when nodding off?
I once made up a word, never heard it before, thought it was a pretty neat sounding word. Then I decided I should probably look it up on Google. Turns out it’s someone’s username…here. This was a long time ago, I don’t even remember what it was anymore.
I believe it was Mitch Hedberg who said when a joke comes to him at night he either has to get up and write it down or convince himself it’s not that funny so he can go back to bed.
I become a total genius as I’m falling asleep- the things I think are so brilliant, they could change the world. The problem is, I don’t ever remember what I was thinking after I wake up!
I’m just surprised you remember your thoughts. Even if I get up right after having them, I can’t remember what I was thinking. The most I get is a little bit of leftover emotion.
