Threads I never actually started, thank God!

Recently the respected Lsura mentioned a number of threads that had almost got started under the Lsura name, except that something (boredom?) set in and prevented an actual posting. Here’s the link.

As the worthy trose pointed out

Well, me of course.

I am SO glad I never actually started the thread “Amish Post Here”.

Meant as a joke of course, but sooo feeble!

and yours was…?

oooh, I’m respected now, am I? That is just so… I dunno, it’s too damn early. But my mind in it’s less-than-one-cup-of-coffee state thinks it’s something.

I once posted about how much I loved the new Listerine toothpaste. Not only did it not get any replies, I’m not even sure it got more than 4 views.

It died a sinking death quickly.

I don’t do it very often, but after having 4 or 5 beers[sup]*[/sup] I start thinking I’m incredibly witty and intelligent. It’s usually at those times I think “I should really post…” Thankfully, I don’t, at least I don’t most of the time.

[sup]*[/sup]Yes, yes, I know, I’ve become a bit of a light weight here in my older years.

What are you talking about? All my posts are like that… what are you saying about my posts!!!

I am also glad I never actually started the thread titled

" Aks the Illiltrerate Guy"

[sub]and maybe this one wasn’t such a good idea either…[/sub]

Not lookin’ so worthy now, am I, Redboss? Eh, you’re not the first guy I’ve lured into public humiliation.

I considered opening the topic of women availing themselves of male escorts (yes, that kind) but chickened out.

Good one!! Go for it!!!

Along the same lines…

“Guy the Ask Dyslexic”

On a similar topic, did you know that MPSIMS also stands for National Dyslexic Association Of North America.

Sorry, sorry. I know. Sorry.

How about “Ask the Neurotic Jewish Chick”?

Robin

I’m still embarrassed by the “List Uncomfortable Truths Here” thread. I’m glad I never started the “Rock ‘n’ Roll Songs Not About Sex or Drugs” thread.

I almost started a thread asking whether athletes are born or made. For example, if you took an average amateur athlete and gave him the best coaches, equipment, facilities, etc… and sponsored him so their sport was basically their full-time job, could you turn him/her into a top-level athlete? Or are there innate limitations that would prevent someone from reaching the top unless they are fortunate enough to be born with exceptional genes or innate skill?

It seems like a good question but I’m glad I didn’t post it because I’m sure the thread would spiral into a “blacks are natural athletes/there’s no such thing as race” pissing contest.

I almost started a thread after finding out about Cecil, but I figured everyone else already knew, so what was the point.

Oh, and I’m glad I never started that one about ass-combs.

Dyslexics of the world…UNTIE!
I started a thread asking about evacuation procedures for the Sears Tower in the event of a fire or bomb scare.

I think it got eleven views and no responses. It was almost enough to drive me to drink.

Oh wait.

It did :: slugging back a scotch ::

since then I’ve always pondered carefully what I start threads about…as witnessed in my discussions of pigeons, brazilians and asshamers

jarbaby

I did start a Should You Post Drunk thread while I was drunk. Got lotso views and replies.

I almost started a What Do You Find By The Refrigerator Light?" about midnight snacking at the request of someone else, then decided she should do it herself.

Don’t Post Here! would be a pretty pointless thread, don’tcha think?

He’s too busy being President:D

My “threads I’m so glad I never started”:

“So what do you think of me?”
“Why, if I never saw another NARAL commercial, it would be too soon”
“Sign up for this and I get money!”
“Read my short fiction here!”
“An ode to my latest bowel movement”

I was once sooooooooooooo tempted to start a thread in Great debates called “Will there ever be a cure for Conservatives?”, but figured it’d be bounced to The Pit so fast that it wasn’t worth the effort…

I already tried that, back when I was BratMan007. The thread title was Nobody post here!
Some people just can’t follow simple instructions.

I figured “ask the southern guy who’s proud of his ancestors” would get nothing but hatred anyway.
