“Two Mice, One Computer” - A GQ on how to get two mice to work simultaneously on one PC. Then I discovered the answer: Plug them both into the computer.
Well, with the interest in my wolf cub, I thought about doing an “Ask the” thread, but honestly I don’t know if there would be enough interest, so although I am bored out of my skull at work, I didn’t post it.
At Christmas, a rant about my husband’s lack of ability to understand that I can be upset that I got him every single item on his wish list and he didn’t get me a single thing on mine and still like the the things he did get me. But he reads the boards occasionally and I just didn’t want anymore drama over it.
A few others but ya figure if I can’t even remember them, it’s probably good I didn’t post them, right?
Having recently discovered the awesome name Ruutu (last name of a hockey player on the Sens, though I then discovered that he has a brother that plays for the Hurricanes), I have been contemplating the Letter U to Other Letter ratio of his name (an impressive 3:2), and wondering what other names out there have a striking amount of a single letter, and what those ratios are. I think a thread about it would sink like a stone, though.
There has been some **fremescence ** around this board of late.
That actually sounds fun, maybe if you created a point system, combining the ratio, with extra value for more letters in the name into some algoritm that gives a numeric score
OK, I’ll mention one that is kind of really embarrassing but seemed like a possibility. It was going to be about phrases you always replace when you sing along with a song, and with what. But the only example I could come up with for myself was:
Simon and Garfunkel
I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my dick and balls
That would be kinda cool, I think. I’ve occasionally thought about starting an ask-me thread about medieval cookery, but I suspect it would sink like a rock.
I occasionally think about creating dish-specific recipe threads, like the one about mac-and-cheese currently in CS.
I recently read a glurgy christian novel http://www.amazon.com/Shack-William-P-Young/dp/0964729237/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236813031&sr=1-1 (my parents both read it, and then gave me their copy. I worried if I didn’t read it they’d want to talk about it) I wanted to start a CS thread about it, but didn’t as I thought it would be seen as trolling.
I considered making **“Why is the racial slur about blacks eating fried chicken and watermelon considered an insult by racists ?” **- something that bothered me for some time. I mean, “They eat babies !” makes sense as an insult to me, but “They eat fried chicken !” . . . doesn’t.
I searched though, and found several previous threads; the main consensus being that it’s because that is or was poor people food in the South.
