  1. I talked to my most recent exSO, and all is well, with no hard feelings. I really think I’m in (that word) with my new SO.

  2. Work is going very well, and has been good this entire year. My boss did not back down, (left over from a paranoia thread a while back) and gave me the best review I’ve ever had, and pretty good pay increase too.

  3. I’m healthy. And it’s Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year.

Three good things…

  1. I finished my finals today. That means I’m done with the first semester of grad school! Only 3 more (and summer classes) to go!

  2. I cleaned the apartment, mostly, today. I still have some to do tomorrow, but I’m really happy with what I’ve done so far.

  3. Dang, I have to have three? Ok…The rain is done, the sun was out all day today, and it really was pretty, even if it was chilly. And I can see lots of stars from my balcony tonight. :slight_smile:

  1. My soda supply has been replenished!

  2. I will start the Christmas decorating tomorrow. This always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

  3. I feel musically inspired enough tonight to practice heavily on new technique with my bass guitar and my drums (practice pad, for obvious reasons).

  1. I got an A in my creative writing class.

  2. My friends M and A, and maybe M and J, and maybe even D are coming to stay tomorrow night. It will be so good to see them.

  3. I will only have to work 10 hours a week for a month.

  1. Electricity!

  2. Heat!

  3. Hot water!

(Yeah, I know it sounds mundane, but after 42 hours of sitting in the dark because the ice storm took out a power line, I’m very, very happy about these three things.)

When I was 21 I had no electricity, no heat, no hot water, and a reduced likelyhood of seeing old age. Now

  1. I have all the above.

  2. A wife that I treasure, and vice versa.

  3. I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do.

The wife and I are going out to dinner.

We’ve managed to get the new house together enough to present to the onslaught of friends and relatives due over the holidays.

The weather today was delightful. Warm…in the 70’s, sunny and clear

  1. I went out to dinner with my mom tonight and we’re going shopping tomorrow.

  2. My grandmother is feeling somewhat better, and ventured out with my mom today.

  3. I felt hope (for myself) yesterday for the first time in… I honestly don’t know how long.

  1. I just got $200 more commission than I thought I was due!

  1. The entire campus is covered in the most perfect layer of snow.

  2. I discovered that someone who I care about (who’s going through a bad time) actually seems to be doing a little bit better… or, at least, is finding some moments of happiness.

  3. I get to sleep in late tomorrow, which means I can stay up late reading Drums of Autumn and dreaming of men in kilts.

1.) I’m not going anywhere this weekend (=snooze in).

2.) I’ve got The Right Stuff and Von Ryan’s Express on DVD.

3.) For 48 hours I am not going to think about the project at work that makes my brain hurt.

Well today has been a really really hard day and it revolves around my dog, I am thankful he is alive.

  1. my dog survived emergency surgery a few hours ago

  2. he is not in pain and will have surgery # 2 on monday

  3. and I get to see him tomorrow

  1. I am awaiting the birth of my second greatnephew/grandson (long story) tonight, they were supposed to induce labor even though he’s not due for a couple of weeks. The doctors say he already weighs 8 lbs !

  2. We had homemade tamales for dinner (not made in this home, just heated and eaten here). Yummmmy

  3. It’s almost Christmas, I love Christmas.

  1. I’m working overtime tomorrow, which means I’ll have a little extra in my next check, the last check before Christmas.

  2. I have my ticket to NYC for the upcoming MegaFest.

  3. There will be people in NYC who want to see me just as badly as I want to see them.

  1. fizzy and I are gonna start looking at hotels for NYC later today. This makes it much more real to me. Also what Persephone said. And I can’t wait to show my bunny off. Except the boooooys are gonna be staaaaaaaaring (and some of the girrrrrrrrrrls, toooooo)…

  1. I’ve gotten to spend … four more days down here (I think) than fizzy and I originally thought I would. So a ten day absence has become a five or six day absence.

  2. I live in a society where having a female best man, while not completely common, will at least be accepted by enough people that we won’t alienate ourselves by ignoring those who take exception to it (our wedding, and if I want a woman as my best man, that’s my decision, not random-relative’s).
