Three season MMP

Well, the last two games of the weekend have been refereed and a nice hot bath has been taken, so life is in the OK range for now.

Eating today has been a bit hap-hazard, started with a big bowl of Cheerios, then some popcorn and water at the soccer filed (and two tiny bags of M&M’s), then about 2PM a double cheeseburger and coke from Burger King, followed by a bottle of water during the 3:30PM game.

I’m such a health nut…

Probably will venture outside to find sustenance once I finish this post.

I got Bessie all cleaned and put away for the winter, we straightened out the garden, did some laundry and generally behaved like responsible adults. So we treated ourselves by making a sort of home salad bar and fixing some great greens mixed with some bat-shaped chicken nuggets. After dinner the voices in my head said I should get all my guns cleaned up (I assume that was what they said – to be frank they speak Spanish and I have no freaking idea what they are talking about most of the time) and now its just some relax time before shower and night time.

Happy Sunday!

Heathenated today, then went with the bunch to Blackstone Brewery for lunch. I had a steak salad that hit the spot washed down with a lovely Oktoberfest.

I got Dad’s memorabilia album started this afternoon, then prepped breakfasts and lunches for the week whilst fixing supper. Like swampy, supper was grilled cheese and tomato soup, albeit, provolone on rye with whole grain mustard and the soup was homemade. Surf time after the dishes are done.

I’ll have some poke ‘n’ maters, hold the okra, please.

Hockey tree? :dubious:

Highlights of the day/weekend. Yesterday, hubby and I saw “Bridge of Spies”, which was quite good.

Today we were lazy. My daughter found a “trash panda” in one of our palm trees. Her name for it. That’s a raccoon for the rest of us. So we all go out and peer up. Sure enough, 20 feet up is a cute little bastard staring down at us. Pisses me off no end. The trees are so big and tall now that I need to get them professionally trimmed now. Not safe to do it myself. Hopefully once that is done, the little ring-tailed PITA will find another home. Just grrr.

I is tired.

I proofread Sah-son’s art paper and his English assignment. I tried to help him format the English assignment but I couldn’t take it anymore. I think it is a P/F assignment anyway - I hope. He had to copy a form to WORD, which is always a pita. I guess it’s my version of WORD that will only copy the form as read only, so I did a C&P instead. Then half the hanging indents would work and the other half wouldn’t.
His art teacher finally got back to him about sending WORD attachments instead of typing into MOODLE. He’s not going to take points off, which he shouldn’t being that he didn’t specify.
I told him he needs to refute an incorrect statement on the discussion board but he doesn’t want to. Another student posted to the plagiarized post and stated that it was the best post out there and agreed with the incorrect statement. I would have thought she was being snarky except for her posts are horrible. I wish I could show you some of the shit his classmates post, I don’t know how they even graduated from HS. It makes me very worried about the quality of this school, that these people passed the entrance exam.

Hockey Tree

Okay then. You like hockey. Got it.

Are you sure the entrance essay did not start out with “Pay to the order of…”

Sari - well, it was plagiarized, so hopefully it was good. Although you never know. All your son can do right now is his best. He’s not responsible for the other students being idiots, except during joint projects. I taught and TA’ed undergraduates when I was a graduate student. I was convinced some of them couldn’t read. I wish I was kidding about that. One thing I will say for community college is that I believe, could be wrong, but I believe that most students there genuinely want to improve and learn. I was teaching undergraduates in a system that guaranteed all high school seniors placement. Many of them went to college, simply because they didn’t really know what to do next.

I would encourage your son to do things like seek out teachers during office hours, or via email. Stay and ask questions after class. Teachers really do appreciate the students who are sincerely interested.

Saying Doggio likes hockey is like saying I’m strange or Flytrap is annoying. A little on the understatement side but more than acceptable.
FIRST!!!

Hey, slowpokes! The CURRENT MMP is HERE!!!

Hockey is some strange sporting event, right? :dubious:

I know. But to be the first on a page I just couldn’t resist. :stuck_out_tongue:
