Continuing in the sporadic tradition of New York Thursday SDMB events:
The unofficial SDMB trip to the brand new Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George.
Staten Island Yankees vs. Vermont Expos
7:35 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2001
The stadium is right at the Staten Island Terminal of the Staten Island Ferry. I plan to meet people at about 6:30 at the Manhattan terminal, to catch the 6:45 ferry over, but we can meet at the ballpark as well. Return ferries leave every half hour.
Tickets are $10 (but depending on how many are coming, I’ll see what kind of deal I can get).
The single A Staten Island Yankees are lots of fun to watch, with young Yanks prospects playing their hearts out. The new stadium is great, with unbelievable views of the Statue of Liberty, lower Manhattan and Ellis Island. The concessions are cheap, with $1.75 hot dogs. They also have the minor leagues’ only permanent Kosher Kiosk, for any of our Glatt-Dopers.
If you’re interested in coming, please post here, and I’ll e-mail you back.
Bring the kids!
