I am interested in getting tickets to a particular Red Sox game at Fenway Park in June. Of course, the game is sold out at the box office, so I am browsing StubHub and the like to find 3 tickets, where outfield grandstand and bleacher tickets are selling for 2-3 times their face value. Should I bite the bullet now and buy the tickets that are available, or wait until the week before the game? Which scenario is more likely to result in better seats and/or lower price?
I might try Ace Ticket. I’ve successfully used them in the past, and their prices are not unreasonable – well, not unusually unreasonable, anyway.
Buy lube. You’re gonna need it.
Hig’s Tickets also shows a lot of ads up here, so they may have tickets.
Everyone has tickets. They all buy from the same people, who may list the seats on a few different services. 2-3x list price is standard, it’s not going to go down any time soon.
I know all the usual ticket resellers. I was just curious if anyone had any experience that would indicate it was better to buy now, or the week before the game, or does it make no difference at all?
In my experience, little difference. If you really have to be at the game, buy them now. If you are willing to wait and see who the starting pitcher is you might be able to get a little bargain but it could also drive the price up.
The best way is to buy them on Lansdowne St in the second inning, but there’s no guarantee you’ll get 3 together.
