Best way to buy Chicago baseball tickets

I’m planning a family vacation to Chicago in June and would like to see both the Cubs and the White Sox (not at the same time). What’s the best strategy for getting tickets? There are plenty on eBay and of course I can always buy them directly from their respective websites. Does it make sense to wait and see how the teams are doing based on the assumption that if either team is sucking air that eBay or scalpers would be cheaper by then? I want to see them regardless of how they’re doing.

Waiting to see if they suck might work for Sox tickets. But Cubs tickets are always in demand, whether they suck or not. (and they usually do)

I’m not an expert, but when I need tickets I go to StubHub. But somebody more knowledgeable will probably chime in with a better idea.

Seconding Stubhub. People who own season tix, but can’t make the game put them up for sale. I even got to look at the seating chart, and pick my seats from those available. (Sox tickets, mind you.)

I’ll third stubhub. Get some Cubs bleacher seats there for under $40 and you are set. Get there early and grab a ball during BP and your trip is complete.

I disagree with Tim, but not substantively. Cubs’ tickets do become cheaper, in my experience, each year after their suckiness has been accepted by the fans.

But that never happens as early as June.

Don’t forget that watching the Cubs from the rooftops across the street is a real thing to do (but not necessarily cheaper). When you throw in the food and drinks, though, they’re not bad.

The man who has made up his mind to win will never say "impossible ".
