Time for a new Finish the Science Fiction Story?

I’m confused. Emeril is really Eleazar?

He can’t be. Brigid is in her late forties, maybe fifty or so, and it was stated that she and Eleazar are the same age, to the day.

CC’s post may have to be edited, or something.

We can say that this Panil and Emeril are from a different faction and work from there.

That works for me. I thought about something like that, it would be easier than editing.

wow - it was very tough for me to follow
I think i’ll wait until a new story with all new characters gets going - i wouldn’t want to spoil the continuity of this one, and really mysteries are more my thing

ok - i know this is a SciFiMystery - I mean more the Phillip Marlowe kind of thing

This one is rather disjointed so far, almost like two seperate stories. Or a Tom Clancy novel. Needs to have the two widely seperated main lines come together somehow. That’s what I’ll be trying to do but I don’t know when I’ll have the time to plot out what I’ve read yet. Busy weekend and whotnot.

Still, the characters involved are very interesting. Perhaps just simplifying to concentrating on a couple or three mains would help.

Pulling the lines together is what I tried to do in my latest post. The line I started with Brigid and the line with Adm. Innison and Ensign Kaval, is now set up to meet.

Looks good. Remember, the main line here is Solomon Tali and/or whoever is working on behalf of his interests. Everyone introduced so far would be negatively impacted should TALON regain control of the area.

That’s a good reminder.

To follow up on my post.[ul]
[li]The Panil (who met s’Kova (aka Minas Sulat) in the bar) snatched Dr. Eleazar Fukisawa off of the shuttle that was hit with the missle[1].[/li][li]Then a new character, Dr. Emeril Lagasby, Phd, etc., 80 years old, was introduced.[/li][li]He has been performing illegal/immoral[2] experiments on Xavvians.[/li][li]Emeril outfitted a captured/drugged/lobotomized Xavvian with equipment to allow the Xavvian to use its natural/latent teleportation capabilities.[/li][li]The Xavvian teleported Dr. Eleazar Fujisawa off of the shuttle just before it was destroyed[3].[/li][li]Now we have a Panil, Dr. Emeril Lagasby, Dr. Eleazar Fujisawa, and an asteroid miner in my post.[/ul]This has been a test of the emergent broadside system. If this had been a real emergent broadside, you would have been confused (oh, wait…). You may now return to your regularly scheduled story.[/li]
Footnotes:
[1] No, Dr. Eleazar Fukisawa was not hit with a missle.
[2] and fattening
[3] The shuttle, not Eleazar

Okay. From what you wrote, I couldn’t tell who was talking when you referred to the Panil’s charge. Emeril was the only character referred to by name so I thought it was him.

Still not sure how to reconcile Dr. Fujisawa and the crystal specialist into the same character, though.

What crystal specialist? The Panil is just talkin’ ta Eleazar about stuff. Eleazar doesn’t have to be a specialist. He probably just read some stuff in the medical journals and his real purpose in “the operation” is whatever you were planning on having him do.

I just may have an idea regarding what to do with Eleazar. Just need to figure out how to compose it…

Love Bunny: a member of a mid-range socioeconomic class of Marche known for being entertainers and prostitutes. The higher-class Snugglebunny performs a similar function but with a much more select clientele. Snugglebunnies have a status similar to that of Companions on “Firefly”.

Do not refer to Marche as “Marchians” unless you want to get hit.

NCB, CC? Where’d you guys go?

And ivy, any chance of you joining in?

I’ll be there. I’ve been playing in the Pit. Takes much less thought to do that than to post in one of these.

I’ve also got to go back and plot out what’s happened, as I have forgotten the story.

Good to hear that NCB! I’ll look forward to whenever you can join in. If it makes you feel better, when Lute jump started this thing I had to go back and refamiliarize myself. I didn’t want to let a cranky character like Brigid go.

And to those who have written in the other “Finish the…” stories, I’ve been thinking of writing a short story, just for myself, not online. It would be set in the early 1960’s and be about an old lady who is about to celebrate her 100th birthday. She’s telling some stories from throughout her life, to a reporter or something, sort of like Dustin Hoffman’s Jack Crabbe did in Little Big Man Three guesses, and the first two don’t count as to who the old lady is.

:smack:
I thought “Brigid” was “Birgid” all this time!
