I bought a brine shrimp net from Amazon.
9" handle, 4" net.
They sent it in a box 12" x 18".
I figure they save money by buying only limited sizes of boxes.
Work ran long. Got invited to the VFW for a flag retirement ceremony ,and cake in honor of the Army’s birthday. The bartender mistook me for a member.:dubious:
Black paint, black carpet, black furniture and appliances, and dress in all black. “Ninja House” ![]()
[sup]100[/sup][sup][sup]10[/sup][/sup]
You’re surprised?![]()
Thanks for the website red; after spideys’, flytraps’, and doggios’ ‘assistance’, some logic is appreciated.
Worked with the youth soccer players again tonight and decided to stuff myself at Logan’s Roadhouse. Duly stuffed and ready for bed shortly.
Cupcakes, thanks for Edna’s story, I’m not a chruch-goer but I hope it brought her happiness and peace. And what I think of the Westboro mob (I refuse to dignify them as a church) cannot be written outside of the Pit.
Sari, good for the cat!
Nut, good news on the hive. Hope the other guy’s gets better.
Turned on the hallway light to walk to the kitchen, and a eight-legged freak of nature skittered across the floor, then decided to play opossum.
I found a new use for my mother’s walker.

Up early again, though this time by alarm. Gonna be a loooonngg day.
I had logic in my color choices - what are the funkiest color names. ![]()
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark actually) with a predicted high of 87 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. TWPTB are now sayin’ the same thing for tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully church yahd mowage can take place. Who knows at this point. Anywho no biggie plans for the day and Sonny’s shall supply sup. There’s an all you can eat special on their St. Louis style ribs and OYKW wants to take 'em up on the challenge.
Metal Mouse no matter what color paint you choose, I suggest you go with Sherman-Williams Emerald Paint. It’s a bit more expensive but looks so good.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
It’s gonna be another of *those *days. I woke at 2:30 in the AM and was unable to fall back to sleep. Dammit.
Then I come in to more papers piled on my desk. None of it is super time-critical, but I’m feeling like I’m falling behind. On the plus side, maybe when I’m ready to take on Grandmothering Duty, they’ll let me work from home… Why not???
Tomorrow, I’m hoping to get some yard time - I want to move a bunch of lilies. meanwhile, I just want to get thru today.
Happy Firday!!
Up ,caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Laundromat after work.
Afternoon, mumpers! I have largely been missing for the last couple of weeks - been crazy busy at work with the exam boards and end-of-session processing. We finally managed to get all our marks, progress decisions and awards released this morning so they are all flying free. Of course, that means a deluge of calls and emails asking for stuff, complaining about poor results and general panic about re-sit requirements.
I am looking forward to a weekend in the big city - we are off to London tomorrow to see Doug Stanhope in the evening, and then spending Sunday at a music festival where the highlight of the day will be the 45 minutes spend caterwauling along to my favourite band
Have read but not retained as my brain is kind of mush at the moment…so hugs all round, and rosie’s .sig to all
Cupcakes, here’s to a peaceful service. I won’t even dignify those a-holes by using their name. Why bring misery to people who are mourning?
My little dude turns 2 today! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday that he was screaming under the bilirubin lights and now he’s screaming in delight as his sister chases him around the backyard.
BTW, his ear is doing much better. No more drainage, and he doesn’t seem as bothered by it. It takes time to heal a ruptured ear drum, but he’s on track.
Hppy Firday!
Another bright, N.O.S. day.
I’ll enjoy it while it lasts because hot weather is coming and we’ll have to close up the house and put on the AC.
I wish I could help you out MetalMouse, but I’ve been in this house for almost 4 years and most of my windows still don’t have curtains and all the walls are the same color as they were when I got here. I don’t even have any pictures on the walls. I had one wall hanging but the cat kept pulling it down.
I actually like it that way, no clutter.
I do need to paint though, I hate the color of the walls, they are a sort of off white that turns an icky yellow color when the sun shines in.
I should go with a nice light sage green, but there is a part of me that wants to go lavender.
Blurf. TIs Firday but I have to irk a half day tomorrow. We are closing on Moanday for electrical update of the meter. It is an extra day off but there is no administrative pay. We must use leave or come here and sit in the hot. No thanks. I have lots of leave so no biggie.
Blurf
Sari, I’m thinking about a light green painting for the bathrooms and perhaps a not-to-bright yellow for the kitchen. The site Red mentioned in post 118 looks like it’s going to be a big help.
Got tile ordered for the shower and bathroom floors; now only the kitchen floor tile and backsplash remain and I’ll hopefully get that done on Monday. The comes the anticipation of how much this whole thing is going to cost.
Juliet, glad to here the little one is doing better. If there is anything more likely to make me smile that a small child laughing or giggling, I haven’t found it yet.
OK, back to the World Cup.
Sari you have lots of walls - use both colors.
Cupcake I hope things go smoothly at the funeral.
BooFae welcome back! Have fun in London.
Last day of school was yesterday! Woo-hoo! Kids sleep in, I sleep in. Poor hubby does not sleep in.
Today is shopping and looking for my glasses. I know where they should be, but they aren’t. I think they are behind a bookcase, so I’ll be trying to get behind it to take a look.
Happy Firday everyone!
I stopped at Food Lion on the way home because I decided I wanted Krab quiche for supper. I also picked up 2 cans of wet cat food, just because, plus other stuff. The cat food never made it home - I suspect the checker put the cans in a bag and forgot to hand them over to me. I checked my receipt and everything else made it. So if I think of it next time I’m there, I’ll ask about my $1.20 of cat food.
It’s smelling yummerrific in here - can’t wait for the quiche to be done.
Are you sure that isn’t the cat food? :dubious:
Howdy Y’all! We supped at Sonny’s and are stuffded. All is well. Even looks like the rain shall hold off for mowage tomorrow.
CupCakes I hope WBC holds off on the protest. One of my favorite memes is “Live your life in such a way that WBC will want to protest your funeral.”
baker, I hope that Miss Edna’s funeral goes well and shows only how beloved she was.
Juliet, I’m glad the little dude is feeling better.
Welcome back BooFae!
I took a half day off irk and got a ton of things done this afternoon. The car passed MARTA, I got the tags, took the donations to the animal shelter 32 miles away at my old town, while in said town, stopped at the farmer’s market for some maters and other fresh goodies. On the way home, I got the grocery shopping out of the way. Nelson even got a brief trip to the dog park. It’s hot enough that most folks (and puppers) are staying home and those of us who do come out limit the heat exposure. Sonic fixed supper.
This is a link to the newspaper article about Ms. Shaffer. There was also an obituary. But since this article was on the front page, and emphasized her religious commitments, I wonder in there will be ’ guests" across the street.
She didn’t look as old as the calendar said she was.
Worked, laundered, martini-ed. Making burgers with peppers and onions and corn with jalapeno cilantro compound butter.
Mine was logical. The Invisible Mole People can’t kill you if they can’t find you.![]()
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE DUDE
Welcome back, Boofae!
Cupcakes, Edna sounded like a cool lady. ![]()
