Time for a picnic in the MMP!!

I’m surprised he didn’t leave you an egg.

Josh isn’t my Baby Engineer.

It’s a perfectly beautiful day outside.
The sun is shining, no humidity, not too hot, and a nice breeze.
I sat outside with the brats for a bit and we got a little yard irk done.

I went to unload the dishwasher this morning and the dishes were icky. The detergent dispenser didn’t open. I hope it’s just a one time thing and not something that has to be fixed.

Well, I’ve ordered some new appliances (stainless steel), new sinks and faucets, and a brand new tub for the remodel. Still have to decide on floor tile and the color of the cabinets (I’m down to Sturdy Brown, Saddle Up, Java, Fiery Brown, and Half-Caft (yes, they are all colors offered by Sherwin-Williams)). Also need to decide on painting the kitchen and bathrooms, all the rooms are that basic blaise (sp) color you get when you have no decision on it.

Anybody slightly color-coordinated who want to offer any suggestions are welcome. It’s not like I know what the hell I’m doing.

ruble, enjoy!

Oh, the horror!
Another terrible truck accident in Arkansas.

Fuchsia, magenta, & cerulean; all together!

Well, sure. Of course that will take a while. You have to pace yourself - drinking too fast is never a good thing.

Busy afternoon; spent a few hours trying to work out logistics for next year’s big skool project at the micropropagation lab, played with tiny orchids for a bit. Then rushed back 'cos the local bee health inspector was coming over to give my new bees a check. They seem really good; not aggressive at all, saw the queen, she’s laying eggs already, they’re bringing in nectar and pollen, all really promising that they’ll be a nice colony.

Then felt a bit bad, because they’re with someone else’s hives on their land, and the inspector had a check through the owner’s hives as well, at his request. His ‘not so good’ hive had loads of -minor, not very contagious- disease issues, and was just barely scraping by, and the ‘good’ hive turned out to have no queen. I mean, it was lucky the inspector was there, both hives were in danger of not making it through the season, and both should be savable with some care, but mine was supposed to be the hive that needed checking, and it looked the healthiest of the three…

The new washer has done its first load. You’ve got to be a computer programmer to use it!! But it gives the option to save your most used setting - that’ll be nice. And it seems to be a bigger drum than our last washer.

Daughter is making a shrimp pasta dish for supper. SIL is still sick… or “sick”… honestly, I don’t know if he’s seriously unwell, a drama queen, or a hypochondriac. I have yet to see what my daughter sees in him. I tend to think it’s her tendency to be attracted to broken guys. Compassion is great, but is it the basis for a healthy relationship?? Dunno.

Brazen mouse got caught by the cat.
My son saw the action and opened the back door, and the cat ran outside with the mouse.
He said the mouse got loose and the cat was on the hunt.
As long as the mouse isn’t in the house I don’t care what happens to it.

Tacos for dinner. I was going to make chicken for me but I didn’t feel like making two dinners.

Sari: my old dishwasher did that sometimes. The mineral deposits in the tap water would build up. Every once in a while I would run a load with large measuring cup or bowl of white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. It would make the house smell like a pickle factory for a day, but it would break down the mineral deposits and the compartment would open more easily for a while.

Howdy Y’all! We have supped and all is well in swampland. We have had large rain and lightnin’ this afternoon. It’s settled down to a light rain now but allegedly more big rain and storms are due in this evenin’. We shall see. On the plus side tomorrow and Sattidy are supposed to be not rainy days which is good cause my team is up to mow the front and back forty over to the church house. It has rained a lot in the past two weeks (since the last mowage) so the grass is tall. Much mowage to be done.

Cool!

You know when the cat stares off into the distance with dilated pupils?
It’s not ghosts, it is disgust with bad interior decorating.

Shrimp pasta was pretty good, if a bit oilier than I like. I’d tweak the recipe if I made it. I’d also add mushrooms because I lurves me some fungi.

I need to load the truck so **FCD **can take the old washer and assorted garbage to the dump tomorrow. Other than that, chillage shall ensue.

Still at work. Since I took the last two days off, I’m working 10 hour days the rest of the week so I don’t have to use as much vacation time.

Trying to figure out what I want for dinner. The kids will have already eaten, so I’m not sure what I’m going to feed myself. I’m at the point where I’m too hungry to decide because everything looks good and too tired to care because it’s been a long day at work. And shrimp pasta sounds soooo gooood right now, Moooommm, but I have not the ingredients nor the energy to make that for myself tonight.

metal mouse, with all of the brown that you mentioned, I think a color palette like this would look good. Great Green SW 6430 | Green Paint Colors | Sherwin-Williams

Congrats on the initial wash Mooooom

Juliet, I hope your little guy feels better soon.

Have fun ruble!

My boss took a training session this afternoon to treat us pretty much like production people. I get it that she came from production, but she will soon find herself left with the dregs of the department and a revolving door of new people if she continues with that attitude. My manager will be back in another week (National Guard summer camp), and I figure he’ll set her straight. I hope so, as I do like her and would like to see her succeed.

metal mouse, I had your breakfast for supper with sides of two eggs over easy and some leftover slaw. :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s an article in our paper today, on the front page, about the death of a woman who was a member of the same church I grew up at, and where my mother still attends.

Edna was the oldest person in Kansas, about three months shy of her 109th birthday! She beat out my grandmother for the oldest ever member of that congregation. Edna was a lifelong member of St. John’s, something unusual even in the days when folks didn’t move around quite as much.

In 1938 the congregation moved to it’s current location and Edna, (along with my mom), was one of the very few members left from that time. She was baptized, confirmed, and even married at the previous location.

Her funeral is next Monday. I’m hoping the WBC doesn’t picket. The last two times there was religious news on the front page, like when our dean had his last service the WBC decided they couldn’t let it pass without telling folks how much God hates them.

Your house is that bad that you know this? :o
