Time for the "Middle of 2015" Postcard Exhange!

Well it looks like I’m the first to receive a card, from my good friend-in-Cecil silenus. It’s a sparkly nighttime view of Las Vegas looking at the strip from across the “lake” in front of The Mirage.

By a neat co-inky-dink, the view shows the front of The Best Western Casino Royale, where I stayed the last time I was in town. Thanks!

My recipients will have to wait just a little bit…until I see what cool postcard packets I can find at the antique postcard show in Golden Gate Park on Saturday.

My postcards went in the mail this morning.

I got a lovely, albeit romanticized, card with Old Orchard Maine, from Atomic Mama.

It makes me wish for the chilly coastal Maine waters on this sweltering Atlanta day! I can remember going to the coast - or to the lake, over in Belgrade - during the hot summers while I was in school (I’m a Colby grad and worked on campus several summers). Those were awesome.

Thank you!

Victory! Or at least partial victory. Look alive, bb. There are a couple more coming!

Sent mine yesterday

I got one from This Space For Rent with all kinds of cool, quirky old retail signs in St. Louis. Hopefully, we can hit the vintage vinyl store at the St. Louis Dopefest he offered to host.

I got a second one today, this one from Algher and with the 2014 Joshua Tree Festival. It had kidsville! and yoga all day long! excellent  thanks!

And today’s mail brought a second card from **Algher ** (only it’s out in my truck, because I got the mail as I was leaving earlier today, and I forgot to bring it in. So I don’t remember what was on it - another festival, I know. I’ll update when I do bring it in. )

I got one from him too.

I received three over the last few days.

Thank you, Algher, for the scenic (?) highway portrait of the Silicon Valley traffic. An also for the Joshua Tree Musical Festival card!

And **Lsura **sent me a photo of Liberty Plaza in Atlanta – the Santa stamp was also appreciated.

Happy Summer Daze to all

Still no cards received here. I patiently await them.

2 lovely cards from Lsura and a vintage card in a letter from Atomic Momma - on the road right now, so I won’t see the mail until the end of the week.

Got a nice “Ohio Wildlife” postcard featuring an indigo bunting from Why Child today. Nice looking bird! (the bunting, that is  )

I dropped off my outgoing cards this afternoon. Hopefully they’ll arrive in 4-5 days.

I had great luck at the vintage paper fair on Saturday. One vendor had an box of 300 or so postcard packets from various eras. I scooped up enough to keep me supplied for the next 3-4 exchanges!

I got a card from Seattle, from needscoffee!

It was a picture of, what else in Seattle, a Starbucks! needscoffee said to look them up if I’m ever in the area. I was 38 years ago, when stationed for three months at Ft. Lewis, Washington.

Thanks1

(Look me up, too, Baker! )

I got a cool magnetic postcard from vivalostwages today! Thank you! I love not camping, too!

I’m usually pretty quick about getting things out, but I’ve been a slacker. :frowning: I will very soon, I promise.

I received two from silenus last Friday, and another one yesterday, but no others yet.

That is amazing!! I mailed those on Saturday. Two days from OH to CA?!! Go, USPS, go!!

There are more to come, I dropped another round in the mailbox tonight, and I’m going to another part of OH tomorrow for a 3 day visit w/family. I’m going to look for more there.

Finally mailed! Small town post offices have odd ball hours. Then on Friday when I stopped they were closed, though they were supposed to be open. Somebody walking by told me Deneen’s daughter had to be picked up from school.

Hey! I got another postcard from Lsura! – Xan Xavier Del Bac Mission in Tucson. It’s beautiful and my spouse lived in Tucson many, many years ago. If we ever get back there, obviously this is a must-see.

Thanks!

Got two postcards today - a locomotive pushed out of place by the 1889 Johnstown Flood from Big Norse, and a nice nighttime exterior shot of the Tower of London (which I visited in 1983) from Anaglyph. Thanks to you both!

Mailed.
