Time for the "Middle of 2015" Postcard Exhange!

I got three today! That’s all of them.

Well done!

Second card from Why Child arrived this morning!

From JoseB, THREE postcards!

They were from Pompeii, a place that fascinates me, that I know I will never see. I can’t imagine the what it would be like for those who had a minute or so of warning.

I really appreciate seeing them. Thank you!

Sorry to be late in posting! Sometimes my real life gets in the way of my internet life.

My cards are in the mail! And I got one late last week from needscoffee of a Starbucks in Seattle! With a cool Aquaman stamp! Thanks!

Yay! I received not two but FOUR postcards today! Many thanks to Pai325 for the lovely picture of Rockford in snow. I agree: we must meet. Next time I’m headed due north, I’ll give you a heads-up.

And JoseB, I LOVED the three postcards from Pompeii & Herculaneum. I have always longed to visit, and through the medium of your postcards, I got to see (and now get to keep!) a little bit of those places. You must have had a brilliant trip; links to your Flickr stream cheerfully welcomed.

Much gratitude to both of you for my wonderful posties!

Finally got mine in the mail…this is what happens when you’re a last-minute kind of a guy! Better late than never…

Still haven’t gotten my third postcard.

A reminder: all should be mailed by Friday. Thanks!

I have received two lovely postcards from Helena330, a gorgeous view of Tacoma, Washington and a closeup of an alpaca. So cute! I will definitely take you up on that offer of coffee next time I’m up your way.

I’ve received all of mine, plus a coupla extras.

Truth!

According to his card,** Kayaker **is “just hanging around to say hello”. Hello to you, too, Kayaker. Your card is the first to make it all the way to Switzerland.

I’ll get in now. Payday next week.
Gonna send Baker, Cunctator and minionkat something new and would love another handful to get acqauinted with

Cool!!!
BTW, coincidentally my brother is in Zurich for work for a few weeks (BASF)!

Got my 3rd card from **davida03801 **yesterday. Sweep!

How long does a postcard generally take, when mailed in the US, to a US address?

Got a nautical card from davida03801 today–three tugs in Portsmouth Harbor NH (a quick google reveals they’re part of the Moran fleet). Thanks!

I got a surprise postcard from Anaglyph, who wasn’t on my list, so I’m confused, but very much appreciative of the postcard, which depicts a celebration of Swiss National Day, Aug 1, which I remember very well because I had a Swiss friend who used to have a barbecue on Aug 1 which is also the first day of Allergy Season (for me anyway.)

Thanks, Anaglyph, it’s the first postcard I’ve received this round.

They’re supposed to be treated the same as first class mail, so it should take around a week. But my experience is that it can take a lot longer–sometimes 3 weeks or more.

Got two postcards yesterday from Baker - a picture of resting cattle and birds, and another of a bison and calf, all from Kansas. Thanks! That should be all my cards.

Baker has been busy…got two (!) from her in the mail today (so this may help answer her question about the length of time it takes postcards to travel, or at least how long it takes postcards to travel 1300 miles).

–A great shot of the KS state capitol (which is especially wonderful as I have a “life list” of state capitols visited, and Kansas’s is not on it); and
–a card with the Kansas state symbols, including the archetypal “amber waves of grain,” equally great.

Thanks so much!

Bolding mine. Glad to hear you got the cards! As I said, I live within sight of that building here in Topeka, and on the card it looks as I always remember it, with the green, oxidized weathered dome. But the photo is dated, there have been major renovations and the dome is now it’s original copper brown color. Still gives me a double take from time to time.
