TMI about girls...

Ok, as stated, this is TMI. I was just wondering what the deal with pubes is. Sometimes it seems like EVERY guy likes it shaved. Sometimes it seems like EVERY guy likes it designed. And sometimes it seems like the preference is for wild and wooly.

So girls:
-do you shave - and if so completely?
-do you do it or not do it cause you wanna or cause your SO does/doesn’t want you to?
-do you change your mind from time to time?

straight guys/lesbians:
-do you like them a certain way?
-does it bother you if your partner keeps it otherwise?
-do you change your mind from time to time

And I should ask that you say whether you’re a guy or girl… often times on SD, I just can’t tell!

~I’m a bi-chick

straight guy here.

I like to see some hair there, but not so much that I’d ask a girl who shaves to let it grow. On the other hand, I really enjoy giving oral sex, and excessive hair can be a little annoying in that situation (but again, not so much that I’d ask her to shave).

I guess I prefer that it just be ‘maintained’.

I like the “landing strip” myself. for the same reasons asacconav

Another straight guy here (haha, I’m sensing a bizarre pattern).

I prefer it trimmed down. Not really shaved or stubbly, but clipped fairly close. The reason is that there is nothing worse than going down on a girl and getting a mass of soggy hair in your mouth. Quite nasty.

To quote ChiefScott as best as I can remember when this subject came up before:

Trimmed or shaven–good. Yeti–bad.

Straight girl.

**do you shave - and if so completely? **

I wax. Not completely, I leave what’s often called a “landing strip”.

**do you do it or not do it cause you wanna or cause your SO does/doesn’t want you to? **

I do it because I want to.

**do you change your mind from time to time? **

Occasionally I’ll let it go wild, or wax the lot off, but usually I stick with the landing strip.

Shaved or waxed completly. Makes things easier, feels better. Don’t like the whole hair bit I don’t think it’s as attractive- plus if I’m going to do my bikini line or stuff that peaks out, I might as well go the whole way. Occasionally I’ll go a couple days to a week without- when I know I’m not gonna be involved with wonderboy anytime soon. But usually other than hair that is on my head (or top of my arms) is nonexistant.

<straight guy>

do you like them a certain way?
This shouldn’t really come as a suprise seeing as how everyone seems to have mentioned it-- but the “landing strip” is definetly a good thing. Short enough to avoid the mouthful phenomena elluded to by Neurotik, but not so short that it gets prickly.

**does it bother you if your partner keeps it otherwise? **
I don’t think bother is the right word. I love the “strip” and am always happy to see it, but I’m not a pube-fascist or anything.

do you change your mind from time to time?
Yeah I do. You know what they say about variety…

I trim, but I don’t wax or shave. Tried waxing and it hurt like hell. Tried shaving (numerous times) and ended up with rashes.

I WILL shave if we are planning a day at the pool or the beach, for my own peace of mind.

I really don’t care what my husband thinks of it. He doesn’t shave for me, why should I shave for him?

I can’t stand seeing women completely shaved. I don’t know what their reasoning is. To me, it just seems to pre-pubescent. IMHO, a hairless pubic area is only acceptable on pre-pubescent kids. YMMV.

I’ve always wondered about the totally hairless thing. I don’t know of many men (specifically, I know of one) who find it particularly attractive. As long as the hair is out of the way, it really doesn’t matter. Porn stars have a legitimate reason for itcrab lice , but I can’t see anyone else going through the bother. To each her own, though, I suppose.

Straight guy.

Hair please, au naturel. I really like the triangle shape, and the “wildness” of unimpeded curly furs. Like to run my fingers through it.

Don’t much care to see hedges and bushes turned into topiaries or groomed to the precision of astroturf either, come to think of it.

Yeah, the completely shaved look is a bit icky. Looks like an ad for pedophilia porn or something.

Aw, man! That nun had 70s bush!

Ptooey!

I like it visible.

If I can see her pubes I like that. So I don’t like clean shaven. but some hair of a lot of hair makes no difference to me.

I do what I like to call I little light landscaping in that area. I shave what spills over to my thighs and shave the top so that it’s even. I trim the hair so that it’s not obscenely long and I call it a day.

There are no stray pubes peeking out of my undies and that’s how I like it.

I like to see a little edging – makes me happy to see the grounds well-kept.

Relatively lazy female that I am, I shave enough so that I don’t look like I need a hairnet on my crotch when wearing underwear (normal sizes, not crotchfloss) and bathing suits. And that’s only if I know people are going to be seeing it. I will occasionally shave for the boy, if we’re going out and I feel like dressing up, cause I like doing the full nine yards sometimes.

  1. Shaved completely.

  2. I do it because it feels clean and smooth. Although Mr. Honey doesn’t complain.

  3. I don’t change my mind.

I shave the sides for the bathing suit line, and keep the rest trimmed fairly short–I found the suggestion of a beard trimmer in one of the many shaving threads a while back, and it is fantastic, works perfectly for that application. Sometimes I let the fiance do the trimming so it’s just the way he likes it. I do the trim mostly for him, but partly for me, since it’s more comfortable that way.

How unusual is it, really, if a person’s short and curlies are really short and straight? I know I’ve heard it’s more common in people from Asian countries, but… I’m of 100% European stock, and mine is nearly perfectly straight.

Ok, y’all have been fair, so I better answer my own questions:

  1. I used to shave but I don’t anymore. I have super sensitive skin, and I just got sick of the itching and sores.

  2. I enjoy being lazy and not doing much… but my SO prefers it this way too.

  3. I change my mind all the time!!! I guess that’s why I asked - to see if anyone else switches every few weeks!!!
