TMZ: 'Sin City' Actress Brittany Murphy Dead

Cardiac arrest is given as the cause. She was 32 and also starred in Clueless and Don’t Say A Word

That sucks. I liked her as the voice of Luanne of ‘King Of The Hill’.

This is a real loss.

Not really.

“Sin City Actress”? Is that really the role she’s best known for?

A friend just told me. It kind of sucks, but I was never a big fan. Still, I’m a little sad.

Was this really necessary? She was a human being, you know.

This blows.

First Dan, now Brittany.

She was brilliant in Spun, one of my favorite movies.

Was a human being. Now she is apparently rotting meat.

Sad.

That’s terrible. :frowning:

Isn’t cardiac arrest just Hollywood-speak for drug overdose? I hope I’m wrong, but something tells me I’m not.

That *really *sucks. I quite liked her in everything she was in.

This may as yet be a false rumor. TMZ is the only one reporting it. Everybody else is basing their reports on TMZ.

The Huffington post has it now too.

it does reference TMZ as their source though.

I’d heard drugs and eating disorder rumours about her before - I do hope it’s not that. Follows an emergency last month when her husband was rushed to the hospital off a flight at LAX. Very sad.

I don’t recall TMZ ever fucking up one of these kinds of reports. They apparently have paid sources in pretty much every L.A. area hospital and police station.

TMZ may specialize in covering dirt, but they’re very reliable as a news source. (Depending on your definition of news.)

. . . about 11 or 12 years ago saw her on Broadway in The Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge.

The production also starred Anthony LaPaglia and Allison Janney, an amazing production with one of the best casts I’ve ever been in a live audience for.

I know they generally get it right, but they do occasionally get it wrong. As a rule I wait for a larger, more reputable organization to confirm those rumors.

I think I heard (just last week) that she was fired from a role in a film that was already partially shot, which is pretty unusual, and would seem to indicate that if the studio was willing to write her off of a project that was fully underway, she must have really been giving them problems…

For a whlie, she was the insufferable “I’ll never tell” girl from those Don’t Say a Word promos, but I think her most memorable roles were in Clueless, with Girl, Interrupted and 8 Mile following close behind.
