OP here. I used Sin City in the headline because, a) it was the most recent movie of hers I could think of, b) I figured it would be one of her most popular movies among people on this board, and c) it was really the only movie I ever saw her in.
I realize now that Clueless was probably her most popular role…
Clueless was a long time ago though I guess it’s still huge in the public consciousness. And for those who might have only known her via the Sin City role it’s helpful.
As I outlive more and more celebrities who are about my age, my jealousy of celebrity begins to wane, because I start to see how I could have easily lost myself to drugs and such if I had plenty of money and a constant cast of characters who wanted to hang out with me.
I mean the article doesn’t say it was drugs, but if she was 32, what else could it be?
Heh, sounds like she was playing something she knew then.
I can’t stand that movie because it really makes you feel Spun. If anyone ever wants to know what Crystal Meth is like without the side-effects? Watch Spun.
Well, I appreciated the *Sin City *reference, as that’s the only thing I’ve ever seen her in. I thought she was great in that one. The rest of her filmography looks like wall to wall chick flicks.
She has an upcoming movie with Stallone called The Expendables. That’s eerily prescient!
Ugh, this is horrible. I had no idea she was suspected of having health problems.
That’s how I know her best too, bienville. I actually disliked her in the role (due to her mannerisms and bizarre voice), but she seemed much more natural in the less broad film/TV style of acting.
Geez. I loved her in Clueless and Girl, Interrupted–two very different roles.
FWIW, a friend of mine from college passed away suddenly at age 36 just a few months ago. She had a massive heart attack. No history of heart problems, no drugs, no anorexia, no abuse–just random, rotten luck.
Of course, my suspicions are drugs or some other form of self-abuse were involved, but random fatal heart attacks do happen to people in their 30s.
