Well, Spike did NOT renew TNA’s contract. They’ve lost their North American TV time.
One of the ‘last straws’ turns out to be that TNA was secretly employing Vince Russo when Spike had already straight up told them not to. But then, it’s debatable as to whether or not that was the deciding factor since there hasn’t been a lot of news regarding the renewal before now.
Back a few months ago, the (much denied) sale of TNA fell through. One of the key things rumored to have completely fucked the potential deal was a demand that Dixie be kept on in both a leadership and an on-air role.
So it will be interesting to see where this goes. Do they get a contract with another network? Do they sell out to Jeff Jarrett (who is still a minority TNA owner) and then does Spike give HIM the TV contract? Does Dixie still queer the deal by trying to force any potential buyer to keep her on? Or does TNA completely collapse in flames with WWE buying the tape library for $3.17?
