Was there ever a news program called To Be Announced? I seem to remember when I was a kid hearing a deep voice intoning, “To be… Announced.”
My memory is usually pretty good for pointless television.
I seem to have a vague recollection of a show called “To Be Announced,” rather at about the same time and timbre of “The Goon Show” or “Beyond the Fringe.”
Yeah, “To Be Announced” was a news-bulletin-type TV show. “Pelicula” is the name of a very popular Spanish-language TV show (it’s on all the time), and “Various Artists” is a band so popular they have their own section in every single record store.
masonite: I’m talking about something I (think I) saw on TV, not in the TV Guide. Good joke though.
DrFidelius: IIRC, it was a news-type show – if it existed. I checked imdb, but it only shows a movie from 1979 and I remember the intonation from when I was younger. Could be a false memory, but it seems to me that it was on one of the L.A. stations on Sunday mornings.
