To Do List - Done! (brag here)

I’m intrigued by the responses to archmichael’s listthat include references to items already completed.

Whatchall been up to? What “To Do’s” have you done?

My list:

  • Have kids
  • Participate in protest marches
  • Appear on TV gameshow
  • Travel through Europe
  • Travel in America (Grand Canyon, Badlands, NY City, Everglades, Washington DC)
  • Resume playing the violin & join a fantastic community orchestra
  • Travel to England
  • Marry a fantastic man
  • Talk to Oprah
  • Sell a fair amount of my artwork
  • Publish a very short story (on Internet, but I’m still counting it)
  • Make peace with my Mother
  • Own a bunch of cats
  • Solve a crime
  • Ran a marathon
  • Got married

Last time I made a list like that, I was 17 and a very different person. Don’t even remember the list. I think the list had a lot more ‘pie in the sky’ goals

-Own a Land Rover, I wanted one since I was 4 and someone pointed out to me the difference between Jeeps, Land Cruisers and Land Rovers.
-Have a career in radio or television
-Be a stockbroker
-Own a horse
-Have a child that looks just like me (yes, I know, very vain)

I have lots left to do, but those ones are in the book.

– Lived in Manhattan
– Owned a jeep
– Graduated college
– Visited Japan
– Visited Ireland
– Visited Paris
– Visited every Disney park in the world. (Yeah, I know. But I always wanted to do it.)
– Got a job for a Lucas (George) company
– Worked on the sequels to three of my favorite videogame series
– Met someone great who likes me back
– Most every sexual fantasy I’ve had, I’ve done. But this says a lot more about my lack of imagination than my wealth of experience.

–Get a college degree
–Travel in Europe (Vienna, Munich, Prague, Berlin, Paris)
–Drive the Nurburgring
–Have a nationally published cartoon
–Ski on an Olympic mountain (Lake Placid)
–Learn to juggle
–Play a musical instrument (viola)
–Get my pilot’s license
–Make Eve laugh

There are a few from the other thread that I’ve done (own a classic car, milk a cow), but aren’t quite big enough to put on my own list.

Hmmm…there are a lot of things I’ve done that are on other people’s list…but I really didn’t have a list until I had already done a lot of things…if that makes sense.

About the only thing I can think of is that I had always wanted to visit the Mayan cities in Mexico. Ever since I was a teenager, and first found a book about the Mayan culture and history I’ve been fascinated by it. I wanted to visit all the cities that I saw in those books.

So far I’ve been to Palenque, Chitchen Itza, Uxmal, and Coba. (those are the bigger ones)
Still to go are Tikal and El Mirador which are both in Guatemala, and a bit more work to get to.
