I spend the majority of my time composting in my backyard, whats a “thread”?
I am divided on this – on a message board, it’s the most asinine thing. I mean, if you’re not interested, don’t open the thread. Trust me, there are a fucking metric assload of threads I won’t open because I am completely uninterested in them. IRL, it does sometimes become relevant – a coworker asked me “what do you think of that woman that killed her husband for watching Keeping up with the Kardashians?” I had to say, “honestly, I don’t have an opinion, since I hadn’t heard anything about it and I have no idea what that show is, since I don’t watch much television.” Would I ever walk over, say “hi guys, whatcha talkin’ about?” and then shit on their conversation because I don’t watch television/listen to pop music/eat sushi/whatever other thing I am completely uninterested in? No. That’s just stupid. Would I announce “oh, I am so completely uninterested in <whatever> because <whatever>”? Again, no, because it’s just fucking stupid.
Now that I have been rightly chastised, I would like to say that your points are well taken and that I will refrain from repeating my mistake.
I can afford to be magnanimous about this because I have many other mistakes that I can fall back on.
