Yep. It’s kinda like annoying telemarketers who won’t take no for an answer, tinged with a bit of insult and threat.
This sort of thing happens to my SO on occasion when she’s out by herself, usually the jerk just wants a better look at her bustline. One of 'em was stupid enough to even say so!
Creeps her out, too.
Maybe the reason so many of our guys can’t understand how telling the creepy guy off is a bad idea is because they’ve never been that insensitive and clueless themselves. Generally speaking, creepy always includes (but is not limited to) ignoring the accepted boundaries and social constructs. The creep is already out there in weirdville and quite often they don’t understand why they aren’t received better and they react very negatively to what they perceive as an insult.
Generally speaking, we’re just trying to get out of the situation with the least drama possible, and some creep angrily screaming that you’re a stuck-up bitch is drama. Once they situate themselves in weirdville, all bets are off. We can no longer make reliable predictions about our safety, even if nothing actually dangerous is said or done, because you can’t predict crazy. Sure, maybe they’re just socially inept, or maybe they’re liable to attack, or maybe just construct a tinfoil hat and sit in the corner of the room glaring…but all three of those scenarios can start out the same, just a vaguely creepy guy doing whatever it is that makes him creepy.
