Have you hugged a dino today?
Oh! Thank you for the reminder! I need to teach my daughters about it. They can each bring a prehistoric friend to dinner (but not all of them - they have a bin of plastic dinosaurs). Unfortunately the best we can offer the dinos is a home cooked meal, as we aren’t dining out tonight.
This is old gnus.
I’m sorry, I won’t do it again.
(sigh) Another Prehistoric Creatures Day, and I am possessed of no Prehistoric Creatures at all.
Oh well.
I’ll make sure to thumb through my Robert Sabuda pop-up book of dinosaurs tonight.
Awesomest. Book. EVAR.
Roar!
I have that book, too! I got it for my 27th birthday. Totally awesome.
We celebrated it again this month–it was on last month, too, and apparently one more time in 2009.
Prehistoric creatures can be obtained at my local large grocery store in the kids’ toys section, for a mere $1.99, should one wish to top up their collection of pre-historic creatures.
I am yearning for some neato mammoths, though. Mammoths are very cool.
I am happy to report that while we forgot to include the prehistoric creatures for linguini and clams, the dinosaurs were treated to a bedtime snack of cookies and milk, and they got to pick the story. My eldest wanted to hog the cookies for herself, but I warned her that it might upset the dinosaur on his special day, and if he rampaged and wrecked the house I was holding her directly responsible. Crisis averted.
I was hoping someone would mention this, since last month was missed. My gf and I took our lot out to TGI Friday’s. Great fun was had by all, including the restaurant staff. We took lots of pictures and as soon as I figure out how to get them from my phone to flickr, I’ll share them.
By the way, the next one is in November.
I’ll have to stock up on dinos before then! This is such a fun idea.
