Happy Thanksgiving. Today I am on clear liquids and Fleets Phosphosoda laxitive. By tonight I should be squeaky clean inside and out.

Tomorrow morning I have to be at the hospital at 6am. My surgery begins at 8am.

You can keep an eye on my journal where I will have my husband post when I’m out of surgery. I’ll get him to post the room number as well, in case anyone wants to call.

I’m really hoping that I can use the phone for dialup access on my laptop and post in my journal directly as well. We’ll see.

I’m bringing a couple of blank CDs with me, and my surgeon is going to record the surgery for me. I’ll be sure to post a replay webcast next week ;D

Gee, why didn’t I think of that? We could have mixed a duet – you getting your duodenal switch and me getting my vasectomy. Number one with a bullet, baby! Party album of the year.

Gosh - you really want it recorded? An ex partner of mine had quadruple heart bypass and was really surprised that the surgeon chap offered him a video of the whole great fun experience.

No, I don’t need any enemas. I just need to drink Fleets Phosphosoda. I had to do this for my pre-op testing colonoscopy too.

Here is what the lovely bottle says:
Phospho-Soda
oral saline laxative
gingger-lemon flavor
for bowel cleansing prior to medical proceedures

the stuff is foul beyond belief. I hated it in September, and I’m going to hate it today.

No food all day, clear liquids only.
Nothing at all to drink after midnight.
Show up at the hospital at 6am.
Have my plumbing totally rearranged at 8am.
