We had a late-is lunch of BBQ, so my supper was an apple. I may have some ice cream in a little bit.
On Thanksgiving Eve the Mrs. and I enjoyed some chicken vindaloo with mango chutney and naan. Also some oven-roasted eggplant which we had lying around occupying space.
It was quite nice.
It’s been a day of Thanksgiving prep and running a bunch of errands. Plus we had two grandkids in tow that we weren’t planning on having to watch today. So we just ran by Papa Murphy’s while we were out and brought a couple of pizzas home.
I had leftover hong shao rou with some type of large radish added, and some stir fried celery with ground beef. I think everyone here that’s not vegetarian would love hong shao rou (bacon/belly braised with a bunch of delicious ingredients). My wife cooked, since I’m taking care of tomorrow’s turkey.
Thrilled to death we’re skipping Thanksgiving altogether tomorrow! Tonight: chili dogs. Tomorrow we will rummage through the freezer for whatever strikes our fancy, though I have a lovely apple/walnut/blue cheese salad for MY main course.
Tomorrow we’re all going to my sister’s for a big Thanksgiving dinner. My daughter decided she wanted to fix one before hand so we’d have plenty of leftovers for this weekend. We had baked ham, Irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, two types of dressing and pumpkin pie.
Uncured (all the rage!) turkey dogs, tater tots and blackberries. Said dog’s honey buns will be baked with butter and slathered with carmelized onions and brown mustard, much to my youngest’s chagrin “I want ketchup!”
Shawarma and Baked Potatoes.
Simple, easy.
Kids had PB&J, baked potato, couple other things.
Deluxe salad from Whole Foods salad bar w/smoked salmon wrapped in a whole wheat lavash. For dessert: peanut butter cups.
Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps, Pot Stickers, & Egg Rolls. Trying to come from a completely different place into tomorrow’s gluttony.
I made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. After dinner I baked a cake for tomorrow’s dessert
Pork chops and salad.
Family was coming in at different times, so we made a big pot of beef stew for folks to enjoy when they felt like it.
Leftover pizza, buzzed.
Wedge salad with bacon and bleu cheese dressing.
Turkey burger on a bed of cooked spinach with a fried egg on top
