Tonight I met Homer Simpson

Ok, it can’t really have been Homer Simpson, can it, because he’s a cartoon. But I did exchange a greeting with the bloke who is the voice of the character, Dan Castellanata.

He’s currently appearing in a bizarre play/musical thing called The Bicyclemen at the King’s Head Theatre in Islington. As I made my way back upstairs from the bogs before it started, I met this slight, baldy geezer at the top of the stairs. I mumbled something like “I’m lost; which way to the bar?” and he replied “We’re on in about 10 minutes”. I bet he’s telling his mates how he met Seosamh tonight…

The entertainment, by the way, was excellent.

I would love to meet him, just so I could gush about how much I loved him in The War of the Roses and act dumb as to ever having heard his name anywhere else.

Homer Simpson, father to the son I never had. I wonder if Marge messes around.
Peace,
mangeorge

I’d praise his performance as the gay guy on Married…with Children. “But what have you done lately?”

He was always my favourite on The Tracey Ullman Show.

You met the guy that voiced BeelzeBot (the Robot Devil) in Futurama? very cool :), the man has talent, maybe he should talk to Matt Groening about starring in another MG cartoon, it’d be a pity to see his talent go to waste…

Maybe he’s one of those talents who doesn’t seek work till it’s time to fatten up the coffers?
I have no problem with that, BTW.

Anybody remember his appearance on L.A. Law, as, well, Homer Simpson?

Vaguely. Wasn’t made up as Homer?

He certainly didn’t do any Homer Simpson last night in “The Bicyclemen”.

Although he did do a song about a Broadway chorus boy who insisted (very inconvincingly) that he was “hetero”… I cannot for the life of me remember how such a song was shoehorned into a thing about a bloke hanging around a bonkers French village while his bicycle is being fixed.

Well, that tops who I met yesterday: One of Harry Truman’s nephews.

He had a cute cameo in **Arrested Development **also. I am sure that he has fully accepted his fate as being Home Simpson with the world, but it’s nice to see him do other parts also.

Oh, him! I finally looked up a photo.
Sure, I’ve seen him several times.
Checking the filography at that link, he’s been quite busy.
