Too much Palinage. I pit Joe Biden!

I mean, he’s pretty fucking boring. If I had known that the alternative to a VP nominee from the South (you know, to keep things balanced) was a VP pick only slightly more interesting than oatmeal (you know, to keep things balanced), I’d have stumped for John Edwards.

He ripped off his stump speech from Neil Kinnock- a man who managed to keep his own party out of power for nine years. That’s like stealing lyrics from Andrew W.K., or borrowing recipes from your English cousin.

Oh, and he’s poor. Jesus may have gotten a lot of mileage from that “meek shall inherit the earth” stuff, but it was supposed to be a metaphor, people.

I really miss Hillary now. I hated her campaign, but Palin would not be the pub VP candidate if Obama had picked Hillary. Biden is just so blah.

He’s not boring.

I’m with you. I’m firmly in the Obama camp, but goddamn I’m sick of these fucking Palin threads.

Well, Biden’s not the most boring possibility – Obama could have picked Kerry!

The Vice Presidential debates might actually be interesting to watch.

Palin, I think, appeals to some folks as a “regular” person (with the assumptions of “good common sense” and the lack of political I.O.U’s from not being a long time D.C. insider).

Biden is more experienced on a broader range of topics.

However, I think Biden needs to be on his best game, to make sure he is not seen as a bully, but still make her appear (as a result and goal of the debates) to be unqualified for the role of VP.

Does Biden have the ability to pull that off?

Biden is a smiling reptilian monster.

But by god, he’s our smiling reptilian monster!

You pit who now?

His family is easy on the eyes if I do say so myself…

So the Vice Presidential debate will look like this?

If Democrats had their way Lieberman would be chilling in the White House right now.

Thanks, that made my day. I never noticed but Barney is kinda fucking creepy. Like if you woke up in the middle of the night and he was in your closet…nightmare fuel.

I thought Biden was supposed to be Obama’s attack dog. Where is he? And why haven’t I gotten my usual Obama email for the past two days?

Busy arguing with PETA over Biden, probably.

He’d be chilling at the Naval Observatory, dumbass. And I’d rather have him there where he can’t do any harm than doing the damage he’s doing in the Senate.

I guess I am a dumbass because I don’t see how where he sleeps has to do with anything. Does the VP not work in the White House on a regular basis? He has an office and a staff there, yes? I mean, when he’s not in an underground bunker in an undisclosed location.

He could have gone even more boring than that. Evan Bayh is Ambien in a suit.

This raises the disturbing possibility that Sarah Palin’s UK cognate is Kinnock’s nemesis Margaret Thatcher. I see a bit of Thatcher in Palin, to be honest.

On the other hand, Biden is no Kinnock, really. Kinnock was infamous for celebrating a Labour election win a few days before the actual election, which Labour ended up, erm, not winning. I can’t see Biden celebrating anything, early or not. He strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn’t show up at his own birthday party.

I think we’re supposed to envision the scene from V in which Diane eats the guinea pig, with Biden as Diane & Palin as the guinea pig, even though Jane Badler looks more like Palin.

I like Biden. He’s not boring. He can be pugnacious, and the challenge will be to keep that in balance with Palin so he doesn’t appear to be “beating up on the girl”. I’ve always wondered if the plagiarism incident & his later aneurysms were related so I have always let that slide. I disagree with him on a lot, but I’m not afraid of a Biden Presidency.

I would like to know what Biden has been spending his money on these last 30 years. I don’t think his lack of wealth by itself disqualifies him, but I’d like some kind of explanation. Even with no corruption or kickbacks, someone who has worked in the US Senate for 30 years should have accumulated some wealth, unless they are really giving it away. My grandfather was much wealthier than him (net worth around 2 million) and he was a plumber all his life. I’m not saying there is no explanation, maybe there’s something out there about all the charities he’s supported or family members whose lives he’s improved - I haven’t looked, and would love to have an explanation.

And what’s with making Maryland the home office for so many corporations due to the lax laws there? How does he justify this, and what exactly are the perks for basing a business out of Maryland?

And what about his health? I heard he claimed that his plagiarism was in part caused by his brain issues he had around the same time.
