Too soon for a Warehouse 13 thread?

Eh, who cares, I’m starting one anyway.

Sneak peek.

I quite like how the intro hearkens back to the very first episode (will we ever find out what the fish is?) but I’m not in love with the new guy’s “schtick” - apparently he knows when people are lying. I was barely tolerating Pete’s “vibes” by the end of last season, not to mention the way Myka would bust out a new [del]deus ex machina[/del] random skill almost every episode - she had a photographic memory, she could sword-fight, she spoke Russian. I can see the “I know you’re lying!” thing getting overused and tired pretty quickly. As long as Saul and CCH are around, though, I’ll forgive them anything.

That said, hopefully the new guy will be eaten by a grue somewhere around the third episode so Myka can come back.

Speculations, predictions, wistful hopes?

Meh…

To be fair, I did like the exchange:

clunk
“Don’t touch the bomb.”
“Bomb!?”

Have we heard if Myka is returning? I mean, is the actress returning?

I’ll be quite upset if she doesn’t come back.

I sort of liked “America’s Junk Drawer”

I’m more upset that the vet is gone.

I think Myka is coming back - i saw her name listed on IMDB as being in 3.1 - I think it’s just a teaser and a way to add in the new guy. It also allows for 2 teams - Claudia, New Guy, Myka, and Pete.

Well, the actor playing the new guy has a twin brother who is a pretty good actor in his own right. So I would predict there is about a 200% chance that the show will put this to good use, either by having an artifact split the agent in two or by resorting to the classic Evil Twin. As for the chance that Myka won’t return, I think I would put that somewhere in the negative numbers. In this age of entertainment reporting run wild, you can barely avoid news of an actor getting a new haircut, much less walking away from a leading role on a TV show. Finally, I see that Warehouse 13 has joined Chuck in the slip-a-car-commercial-in-the-show club. But I guess Claudia pulled that off reasonably artfully.

So, is that Ice-man or Ice-man’s twin brother?

I always confuse those two. One of them is on Veronica Mars briefly, too.

I think it’s his brother. They were both on something recently playing twins. Might’ve been Fringe.

Oy, the annoying product placement and ads they try to shoehorn in these shows. They did the same thing on Eureka one season with Degree Armpit Juice. Every episode had the cast acknowledging it.

Anyway, not the way I was hoping that football would come back.

Your only option when you work with a lie detector is never speak with them in the room. This would be the most ostracized person in the work place and nobody would ever do anything with them unless forced to.

I kinda like Warehouse 13, but if I miss an episode I don’t go nuts trying to find it online. The new season sounds good: it will feature guest appearances by some actors who are dear to my Trekker heart (Jeri Ryan, Kate Mulgrew, and René Auberjonois). Auberjonois was just wonderful in his previous appearance. I wish he could be a regular.

I’m hoping they handle the human lie detector like the guy in “Bones”, who can only tell when somebody’s lying by reading their face. Sweets, I think.

Perhaps the human lie detector has become so completely reliant on his special skill that he can be easily tripped up by someone who is good at being misleading even while only making true statements. At the very least, the writers can have an artifact suck out his special skill whenever they decide they’re bored with it.

Holy crap, I hope that (product placement) was just for the trailer, and it won’t be in the actual episode.

The easiest way to catch the new episodes online is to hit Hulu. I am not sure how long you have to wait, but they do show up there.

Are you thinking of the show “Lie To Me”? Sweets is a psychologist/profiler, he can pick up on some people lying using those skills, but he definitely can’t always tell when someone is lying.

Or you could just not lie…

She’s listed in episode 8, too.

I hope she comes back, I like her.

Anyone else been catching the animated WH13 webisodes? There’s four up so far, if you can get past the asinine Prius product placement in the first few minutes of the first one it gets pretty fun. Artie, Pete, and Claudia get sucked into a comic book and hijinks ensue.
