Top 5 Dream Cars

God you shouldn’t have started this topic.

1 – Mercedes S-55 AMG (or an SL-55 AMG)

2 – 1971 Plymouth Hemicuda

3 – 1980s Lamborghini Countach (god I hate the new Mercielago)

4 – 1929 Cadillac LeSalle Roadster

5 – A (note, just “a”, no real specifics) Deusenberg

  1. 63 caddy two door, baby blue

  2. 69 lincoln continental w/ suicide doors, midnight blue

  3. 72 (i think) el dorado, the one with the front wheel drive, i think they were only made for one year, white

  4. 71 mercury cougar, cherry red

  5. studebaker avanti, any color

yes, im awfully fond of them land yachts

original Ferrari GTO
2nd generation Ferrari GTO
Ferrari 330 LMB
Ferrari F50
new Ford GT40 coming out

I kept my choices limited to “street-legal” cars, or the Ferrari 312T would have made the list, preferably Mr. Lauda’s.

Nothing wrong with that! Have you ever visited The Land Yacht Marina? It’s run by a friend of mine who just happens to own a baby blue (Benton Blue, actually) '63 Sedan DeVille. Maybe I can get you a spin in it sometime.

As for Eldorados, they were FWD in various body styles from 1967-2002. The '68’s look the best IMHO, but the '72 with its fake exhaust vents on the rear fenders is a great-looking car in the convertible version.

It’s a shame we couldn’t make it a top ten list; that’s where mine gets into the Pierce-Arrows and Deusenbergs.

Zap!

  1. 1974 Chevy Nova, silver or red
  2. Uncle Buck’s car, whatever that thing is (anybody know?)
  3. Any of the pre-80’s Thunderbirds
  4. The brand new Thunderbird
  5. Boss Hogg’s Cadillac from Dukes of Hazzard
  6. Any of the F-series Fords, quad cab of course
  7. Any HUGE old car
  8. Any HUGE old truck
  9. Some kind of tiny 2-seater convertible
  10. Chevelle, Torino, Ventura, similar-looking cars
  11. 1969 Dodge Charger
  12. New Intrepid (you cant deny it, they look good!)
  13. DeLorean
I know, I get made fun of for likeing the crappiest, nasties oldest hugest piece of crap cars, but they’re just so fun and get alot of strange looks from people! Nova tops the list tho, I’ve wanted one of those since freshman year!

Thats 13, but oh well. Gotta be different.

BTW, my curernt car: 1994 Dodge Intrepid. It’s a sweet car.

It’s a '74-'78 vintage Mercury Marquis hardtop.

Ahhh. That’s a '69 or '70 (haven’t seen it in years so I can’t be sure which year) Cadillac DeVille convertible. Make mine Lucerne Aqua Firemist with a white leather interior and white top please.

Zap!

Ooooh, good one. Instant classic. Test drove one once, in Germany, thank god.

That’s about the most fun you can have with your pants on, and still reasonably affordable.

1.1937 Cord Phaeton
2.Duesenburg SJ
3.Auburn Boat Tailed Speedster
4.1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible
5.1956 Saab Sonnet -(tied with the Porsche 916 for fifth.)

I’m sure these choices say something about me. Like I need to seek psychiatric help.

b.

  1. M/B C111 twin rotor Wankel engine. Never produced.

  2. M/B 300sl gull-wing coupe

3.DeLorean.

  1. Bricklin.

Anyone else know of any more Gull-wing cars?

I look at a car as something that gets me from point A to point be, but I do dream about having one, some day, with a cold A/C.

McLarenF1;
Ferrari 575M Maranello;
Audi RS6;
Ferrari 250 GTO;
Lotus Elise.

hey zappo, thanks for the link. i’d love a ride sometime. i looked and looked for this damn el dorado and couldn’t find it. all i can say is i’ve seen this model only a couple of times, and it looks very badass and not so much like other eldo’s.

i’m suprised no one has mentioned a morgan. i wouldn’t throw one outta bed for eatin’ crackers.

Ever heard of Lamborghini?

With one exception, blink178 , everyone prefers candy ass cars that you wouldn’t dare drive on the back roads of North America. There is only one vehicle that I drool for, The vehicle that will take me more places than any other auto, the

(1 to 5) Humvee

Lambo’s are not gullwings, technically. A gullwing door swings up and hinges at the roof, creating a “gull wing” appearance with both doors open. Lambo doors hinge at the side, and open vertically. Well, not all Lambo doors, some open normally.

(Disclaimer: I am not in any way enough of a car afficionado to give specific model numbers or engine stats.)

  1. 1927 or 1928 Whippet Roadster. Purely sentimental reason; it was my father’s first car.
  2. Late 40s Buick Roadmaster
  3. Dodge Viper
  4. 1954 or 1955 Packard Caribbean convertible
  5. 1924 Jordan Playboy (Somewhere west of Laramie…)
  6. And a Humvee – you should see where I live!

69 Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner
69 Ford Mach 1 428 cobra jet
70 Chevy Chevelle SS 454
70 Olds 442 W30
69 Pontiac GTO Judge

  1. 1952 Hudson Hornet coupe, Twin-H Power 308 I6, green, with “The Fabulous Hudson HORNET” on the sides. And big tires. This’n’, but without the big funny-lookin’ guy.

  2. 1965 Mercury Montclair Marauder, 427 (preferably the SOHC version), black inside and out (with little black buttons that light up black…), convertible. They only raced the '63s and '64s, but the '65 is slightly better-looking.

  3. 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler (aka Ford Torino Talladega), Boss 429. The car that forced Chrysler to go to the aerodynamic extreme of…

  4. 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird, 426 Hemi. Faintly ludicrous appearance, but 200 mph with '60s tire and suspension technology.

  5. 1933 Duesenberg SJ, with a speedster body. Not a racecar, but you’ve gotta admire a 5000+ pound car that’d do over 120 mph in the early '30s.

My Grandfather has one  . The Baritz… very nice.

My cars…
1.) 2001 Subaru WRX STi (the Prodrive rally one … 0-60 in 4.5 seconds… in the dirt? that’s what I’m talkin about  )

and… yeah, can’t think of anything else that would top that, except maybe a McLarin F1.

  1. 1967 Chevrolet Impala
  2. 1972 Buick Rivera
  3. 1973 Lincoln Continental
  4. AMC Pacer
  5. 1985 Chevrolet Citation
