Subtitled: Add one-part Byrds, one-part Hollies, one and a half parts Buffalo Springfield – Mix well and serve.
1st: Last Week (#39’s) Poll Quick Tallies
Previous Week’s Turnout: Average – I assumed Creedence Clearwater Revival would’ve garnered more responses than they did…but it’s was only an assumption.

Questions, Answers, Issues, Requests & Honorable Mentionsa) Your Comments & Queries:
From Only Mostly Dead: “I hope that within the next few weeks, the plan is for the top six of the Cowboy Junkies somewhere”
Sorry - You snooze, you lose. A few (64) weeks before you joined, we had a Cowboy Junkies poll (linked here). The top 6 selections were: Sweet Jane (11 votes) / A Common Disaster (8 votes) / Misguided Angel (6 votes) / Angel Mine & Walking After Midnight (with 5 votes each) / Murder Tonight In The Trailer Park (4 votes).
From todd33rpm: “Blue Ridge Rangers falls after CCR but is Fogerty’s first venture outside CCR proper, I don’t quite know where to throw “Working On A Building.” Let’s just call it an honorable mention here”
Even though there was a separate John Fogerty poll running, Annie Xmas only voted for 5 tracks, so I filled her blank spot with ‘Working on A Building’. It’s tabulated under CCR in this thread - but on the SDMB charts, it’ll read as Fogerty/Blue Ridge Rangers.
From The administration: “I don’t quite know what’s going on here… I’m closing the (6@6 polls) until I get clarification of what’s going on, whether this is spam or what"
Here’s a little unsolicited advice to those board members who report suspicious looking posts: Try reading them before reporting them as spam.
From dbygawdcapn: “Bill Kirchen was my neighbor until his recent move out west”
The first 3 things that came to mind for me were: (1) I read somewhere he’s forgone the tradition of divorcing and getting a trophy wife…something tells me she must good people. (2) Did Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello or Waylon Jennings ever stop by for a BBQ? (3) That’s the 2nd time a similar comment has been made. Metroshane pointed out they knew Elliot Easton during The Cars poll.
b) Future Poll Requests:
From: Only Mostly Dead: “If we can go back in time to an artist forgotten earlier in the list, my favorite junkie cowboy, Ryan Adams”
Who? Hmmm, tell you what: If someone, anyone, will second your request in this (or any other future) 6@6 poll thread, we’ll do it. If my memory serves me, the only poll request that hasn’t been honored was a request by 5 time champ’s for the Atlanta Rhythm Section. I occasionally catch flak for some of the artist’s we’ve polled, I could just imagine all the ‘how can do Ryan Adams and skip over Joe Cocker’ comments.
c) This Week #40’s Poll Requests:
cmkeller requested this week’s CSN(Y) polls eons ago when the ‘C’ artists tentative schedule was originally announced. I thought this would be a great week to stray from the alphabetical restraints and poll Neil Young & Manassas / other CSN side projects as the other polls
d) A Few Asides:
If you have any suggestions on making any of the 6@6 threads more readable (or less spam-like), please let me know. I discovered a long time ago the posters to these threads have better musical taste than any FM or satellite radio Program Director on this planet. Hopefully, after the ZZ Top poll, sometime next decade, I plan to compile all the votes from the SDMB & post them on the web and in a thread. Then I’ll burn a several volume CD set & send ‘em out to the top voters who helped keep these threads going.

I can’t provide a link to it because the featured poll and results get posted first. Access it one of 3 ways: (1)Click the link on my signature. (2)Access it through the Café Society page. (3)Bog down the server and do a search on: The 6@6 Headliner Poll… Neil Young. The Headliner Poll also includes links to all the past polls.
10th: Week #40’s Supplemental Poll
Find it the same way you find the Headliner Poll. The 6@6 Supplemental 6@6 Poll… **** Steven Stills (solo) / Manassas / Stills & Young, Crosby & Nash / David Crosby (solo), Nash & Young / Graham Nash (solo)****. As a regular feature, The Supplemental Poll also includes The “Straight Dope Message (Bill)Board" Top Vote Getters List (So Far). Check it out and see if “Watching the Detectives” will be knocked out of the coveted top position. (I have a feeling it’ll take a while. It will either be Dylan, Van Morrison or Steely Dan if I had to fathom a guess)
**Lastly: Week #40’s Featured Artist Poll **
All you have to do is list your six favorite tracks from this week’s featured artist. If you’d like to add your own liner notes or opinions, please go right ahead – I, for one, love reading them. If you specify a live version, it will be noted, but tallied with the studio version. Cover versions are acceptable. Please try to be as accurate as possible when naming your favorite tracks.
Without further ado…Crosby Stills Nash (& Young).
Thanking you all in advance. Hope to see quite a few of you over at the other Neil Young & (maybe some of you at the) **** Steven Stills (solo) / Manassas / Stills & Young, Crosby & Nash / David Crosby (solo), Nash & Young / Graham Nash (solo) **** polls. Have a great week!
