Polling is closed. Hats off to the Dopers who responded. Honorable mention goes to gex gex who for the most unique picks; obviously not the type of person who lets PD’s decide what’s good and what isn’t.
First: Results from The Beastie Boys poll from week #9.
Moderate turnout. Interesting results. (I assumed Fight For Your Right woulda placed at the top. Proof once again that dopers have better taste. Now history, we can now add it to the pile of[ul] [li]Jeff Beck,[/li][li]The Band,[/li][li]Beach Boys, [/li][li]Beatles,[]Animals,[]Tori Amos,[]Allman Brothers, and[]Aerosmith. polls[/ul]All right, here are your Beastie Picks Picks:[ul][/li][li]Foyst Place: Sabotage: With 7 votes. [/li][li]2nd Place: Hey Ladies: With 5 votes.[/li][li]Toyed Place: Intergalactic, She’s Crafty & So What’cha Want: Tied with 4 votes each.[/li][li]4th Place: Girls, No Sleep Till Brooklyn & Sure Shot: Tied with 3 votes each.[/li][li]Bringing up the rear: Eggman & Fight For Your Right: Tied with 2 votes each.[/ul]Honorable Mentions: (With 1 vote each):[ul] []Brass Monkey, []Get it Together, []Johnny Ryall, []Paul Revere, []Remote Control & []Super Disco Breakin.[/ul] [/li]
Secondly: This weeks poll. As promised, the sixth “B”: Chuck Berry. (Voter turnout will be sparse, but I feel it’s a duty to include him). Once again, if you feel we’ve alphabetically passed over a band say so…if not, next week will feature The B-52’s (who I’m already predicting will have the 2nd largest vote count so far in the polls…Behind the Beatles and surpassing Tori Amos).
Weekly disclaimer: I’m not at all biased toward today’s contemporary artists, it’s just in most cases their smaller sized discography’s would make selecting 6 favorite tracks a rather difficult or daunting task.
On with the poll. Here are my 6 Chuck Berry picks:
- Memphis Tennessee
- Maybellene
4: Johnny B. Goode - Rock ‘N Roll Music
- My Ding A Ling (Live From the 1972 London Sessions)
- Reelin’ & Rockin’ (Live From the 1972 London Sessions)
**Thanking you all in advance **
