Three actresses who I’ve never found particularly attractive yet are constantly treated as if they are the hottest things ever; Jessica Biel, Julia Stiles, and Drew Barrymore. All of them just have something about their face I just don’t find at all appealing.
She’s perfectly pleasant-looking, but aside from her admirable Hollywood gym-bod, I’ve never been able to see why Jennifer Aniston is considered such a great beauty.
The only one who always come to mind for me when this is brought up is Angelina Jolie. Objectively she is an attractive woman, yet she does absolutely nothing for me.
Marilyn Monroe.
I never get why everyone thinks she was the be-all and end-all. Give me Audrey Hepburn any day.
Are there people out there that seriously think any of the Khardashians are actually attractive? I keep thinking everyone is just going along with some joke I’m not privy to.
In a similar vein, is Betty Boop supposed to be attractive (for a cartoon)? She’s no Jessica Rabbit, that’s for sure.
I’ll second Angelina Jolie. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with her, and she’s a fine actress, but there’s usually someone else on screen that I find more interesting.
And I’ll emphatically second Kim Kardashian. OK, she has big T&A, but there’s a lot more to beauty than that, and so far as I can tell she’s missing out on all the rest of it.

Agree with all this.
From my perspective, the fact she’s not a “great beauty” in the classic Hollywood tradition is the key to her appeal. She’s not so stunningly attractive that women won’t be able to relate to her and men won’t think think they could have a shot with someone like her.
I agree with several of those already mentioned. Eye of the beholder, and all that.
Of course there’s a flip side to all this; actors/actresses that press your buttons but don’t seem to attract much attention from anyone else.
Reese Witherspoon. She’s cute, much cuter than me or anyone I ever dated. But she has a very normal-person chin, so I don’t get all the hype.
Our late, great bard Dio once called Jessica Biel a 10 - her face is a 7 but her bod is an omfg 13 (best I can recollect).

Something about all three faces seems off in some way. Not that they’re not cute girls, and maybe the quirks I find are attributes to others.
I agree that this explains why she’s popular, what it doesn’t explain is why she’s made so many “sexiest” and “hottest” lists.

Me. I think Kim Kardashian is a knockout. I don’t read or care for Hollywood gossip magazines regardless of who’s on the cover, I don’t follow that stuff at all. But she’s a very attractive woman.
George Clooney. I’ve been watching him since his Facts of Life/*Roseanne *days, and I would never have imagined that he would someday be considered a great sex symbol. Does nothing for me - then or now.
On the other side, I also don’t see the attraction of Jennifer Anniston.
If you mean the ones published in magazines, those don’t have anything to do with how attractive someone is, just with how good their agent is.
If you mean lists put together by ordinary people on message boards, then I guess it’s what NDP said.

I came into mention Channing Tatum, whose appeal I just don’t understand. No, I get that he’s got a body to die for, but he literally has the same face of thousands of guys, and it just ain’t all that thrilling. Bizarre.
Another one already listed is Jessica Biel. When she first started, I thought she was adorable, and as she grew up, incredibly gorgeous. But for some odd reason (and it can’t necessarily be Justin, as this began before they were even dating), she’s taken to only every appearing as a washed out version of her former self. Still a killer bod, certainly, but her makeup is so bland, you can’t tell between where her lips are and the rest of her face. It’s so disconcerting. And then don’t get me going on that dull, straight hair either. It’s like God let her win the lotto, but she gave it all up to be a bag lady instead.
