Thank you, Nut!
Thank you, MetalMouse!
As for your big storm tomorrow, well, we’re supposed to get some rain. Possibly a thundershower, too. We’ll see. I sure hope we do. I miss the thunder!
Good luck on the job interview taters!
Happy birthday nona!
cookie, should you be in a pinch when your key fob battery goes out, there is a place somewhere on your dash or thereabouts (mine is inside of the glove box) that you can plug the fob in and your car will remain running until you can get the battery replaced. They told / showed me that at the dealership when mine got low on a road trip.
Irked, came home to the neighbor’s child care provider, the younger daughter and their dog outside playing in the sunshine. I brought Nelson out to join the party for a few minutes. A good time was had by all.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Thank you, Red!
Ooo, cool trick about the key fob!
Howdy Y’all! Fairly lazy day today outside of laundry and the makeage and eatage of sup. I like days like this. Weather is bein’ weird. A little rainy this mornin’, then it got cooler, then the sun came out and it warmed up. Now 'tis rainyish out and still kinda warm.
And now this…

We got the ‘cool’ today. It didn’t make it out of the 40’s! Good grief!
A few years before one of my Dutch maternal ancestors was in New Amsterdam.
Doesn’t “no job” to “a job” always constitute a promotion?
Indeed. I’ve been shopping normally the whole time.
Happy birthday, nona!
Been gundecking an A-1, have you? Who’s your PMS coordinator, anyway? ![]()
We got the first stimulus cheques last year, but nothing since. Evidently we’ll have to put in for the recovery rebate credit. In other news, I’ve been eligible for a jab for at least a month now and will eventually remember to schedule one…
So Canes lost, but tomorrow is another day.
“Any time you make someting foolproof, they go and build a better fool.”

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 62 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 82 and maybe rain. Or not. TWPTB are a willy-nilly bunch 'round these parts. Today we shall lay in provisions and I must needs do some church janitor Junior Warden duties. Sup shall be corned beast and cabbage/N.O.T./carrots. The beast got cooked yestiddy, as I think it tastes better when it’s cooked the day before. It shall get sliced and then I shall pour some of the liquid over it and let it slowly warm up in the oven whilst the veggies cook. Thus, sup shall be yum!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, woe of woes, and bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Oh the misery that is my life!
Happy Hump Day/St. Patrick’s Day Y’all!

I think I actually slept all the way thru the night! < happy dance > And the weather guessers are offering mid-50s and maybe some sun the afternoon, so I might get out there and rake later.
This morning is reserved for freezer-meal prep. I’ve got the rice steamer going and I’ll make up a batch of my MIL’s broccoli-rice casserole, adding chicken to it because I can. I do need to run to the store because it calls for cheez-wiz and I don’t keep that on hand - can you imagine!!
ick And I’ll need to rearrange the freezer to fit it in somewhere. Which means I’ll be pulling something out to make room, altho part of what comes out will be a big-ass bag of broccoli that will go into the casserole. So it might work out.
I’ll probably clean the fridge, too - it’s starting to get out of hand. I know at least one of the shelves has some dried-on something. And who knows what adventure lurks in the assorted containers of leftovers… < cue Indiana Jones theme music > Nope, even that doesn’t make it an exciting prospect, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right? Stoopit adulting. Heck, I may even push the vacuum cleaner around.
We had our corned beef, etc, last night. There’s enough leftover for tonight’s supper, or a hearty lunch. Or whatever. I’ll deal with that later.
Meanwhile, Happy Wednesday, and have a green beer if you are so inclined.
Not sure what you mean here. I have a job and have had a job for the last almost 38 years. I work for the federal government.
Happy belated birthday, nona!
I lost the battle to the cold. It started coming on full-blown yesterday evening, even though I was takin Zicam to try and stave off the severity of the cold. I took a dose of Nyquil around 9:30 or 10:00 last night and went to bed. I feel cruddy today, but there is much to do with regards to a specific project, so I need to work. There are a couple of people counting on me to get my portion done and I can’t let them down, nor can I impede the progress of the project.
There will be no corned beef or green beer here. My ancestry mostly consists of German, Norwegian, and a few other things. My mother is directly from Germany. I would be curious to take one of those Ancestry DNA tests. My daughter took one recently and it returned surprising results. The first being the high content of the Norwegian and other DNA as opposed to German. My Dad claimed both Norwegian and German in his bloodlines, and my mother is from Germany, with a very small supposed mixture of French, Spanish, and a few other nationalities.
Well, I suppose I should head to my upstairs office and start my workday.
Have a good day, everyone!
Let’s see… 06:33. So the corned beef has been in the slow cooker for 24 minutes. And one cuppa joe down.
I have been, too. But, I have had my groceries delivered or ready for curbside for a couple of years pre-pandemic. Mostly because by the time I walk through a grocery, I have no interest in cooking the food I made and kind of want to order a pizza instead. I’m also pretty prone to splurge purchases, so even though it’s a paid service, ordering groceries saves me from myself. As an added bonus, I don’t have to deal with the frustration of having to answer three or four calls when I send my husband to the grocery.
It’s pouring outside and I love it. Today is another ridiculous meeting day. I sure the heck hope I have some time to work without having to multitask.
Happy belated birthday, nona!
Thank you, Taters!
I sure hope you get to feelin’ better. Colds suck. Bah.
Thank you, Overly!
We only have Papa John’s Pizza delivery in my town. Ugh. It’s horridly sweet. I don’t like it.
I also love rainy, stormy days.
Happy belated birthday, Nona!
The Luck O’ the Irish on the interview, taters!
HUG right back at ya, Doggio! It’s nice to be missed, and speaking of being missed, I have missed all ya’ll …
HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY!

Thank you, Pearl!
I did something I normally refuse to do, but it’s for the inlaws, so…
I made my MIL’s broccoli-rice casserole. The part I refuse is the 2 cans of cream-of-whatever soup that it calls for as well as cheez-wiz. Ick and ick. But it’s for them. The only change I made to the recipe was adding a bunch of chopped chicken - that way it’s a meal on its own. I got 5 meals out of the batch - assuming they might augment with a salad or bread or something. Anyway, it’s in the fridge, and once it cools, I’ll add a label with cooking instructions and seal it with my vacu-bagger.
And since the 'nanner breads are all frozen, I’ll vacu-bag them also.
Now what? Tread the mill? Veg? Well, first, clean the mess that is the kitchen. Because messy.
I’m beginning to see why my former boss was so shouty.
