Thank you so much, Boo!
I caught you on FB, but
Happy Nona Day!!!
SIL just finished his Dr appt, so he’ll be coming to claim his spawn. Whew! She’s about worn me out!
30 ounces of coffee on the commute, two 10-ounce cups in the in the office. I think one more cuppa joe, and then I’ll be ready for the 24-ounce Monster Zero Ultra with lunch.
Do you plan to sleep any time before the weekend?
I’ll probably hit the hay around 21:00.
Edited for TL;DR.
I’m going to put a sign up. I’ve ordered one of these:
SIL has claimed his kid, and peace reigns again!
I’ve got the corned beef in a low oven and a chicken carcass boiling away on the stovetop. In a little bit, I’ll wander downstairs and tread the mill. Then nothing till I need to add veggies to the pan with the meat. I need a nothing day after all the yard work I’ve done of late.
FCM, you did! Thank you, again!
Happy Birthday Nona!!!
Back later.
Happy Birthday, Nona!
wordy, hang in there. In 6 weeks, no more tiers or phases in any state.
shoe, have you considered filing a request for a fee waiver for the replacement citizenship papers? You’re eligible if your income is up to 150% of the federal poverty level.
I’ve noticed recently that my car’s key fob has been acting weird. Then yesterday, when we were leaving the plant place, the car wouldn’t start. I finally got it going, and on the way home it suddenly occurred to me that I’ve never changed the battery in the bloody thing. The car is five years old! I’ll fix that issue today, cuz we’re out for our second doses tomorrow.
In anticipation of possibly feeling like crap after the poke, we made a pot of potato/carrot soup to last the next few days.
That happened to me in January. Took it right in to the dealer and they replaced the battery. Took all of 3 minutes and cost <$6.00. The car is 5 years old and I had never replaced the battery in either fob.
Partly cloudy is a heckuva lot nicer than the hail we got yesterday.
I didn’t have any carrots? How was that possible? I always have carrots… except today.
Well, I have them now. 1# cooking with the spuds and cabbage, 1# in the fridge for the next time I need some. The corned beef is done and resting. We’ll sup in about 30 minutes.
I had to run to Food Lion (see above re carrots) and it was spitting ever so slightly. But based on the forecast and the weather radar, I think that’s all we’re getting. Dammit. I’ll get the hose out tomorrow and soak down the raised bed. Stoopit weather.
And I did tread the mill for an hour, and I started watching a series on Prime about Queen Victoria. Because why not? I’ve watched everything they have on the Tudors so moved on.
Time for chillage. Well, after supper, anyway.
They’re playing Boat Train by The Pogues on the radio. Always nice to hear The Pogues, especially one of their less-popular songs. (They often play Tuesday Morning (without Shane) on Tuesday mornings.)
Thank you, Bumba!
Thank you, Nellie!
Up from nap time. I finally got Gordie to go out, since it’;s been raining most of the day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NONA!!!
You could dress them like the 1909 Montreal Canadiens
Happy birthday Nona!
I actually got to go out on a site visit for irk today. It wound up being about an hour and a half of driving for about 26 minutes on site, but it was very nice to have a proper legal excuse to get out the house and go somewhere new.
Aside from anything else, I’ve missed singing along to music- I just listen on headphones here, as the walls here are thin, and there’s always other people around, often working shifts, and I’m rarely driving much more than 10 minutes away to the shops or walkies.
Oh, and I heard informally this morning that the contract should be getting extended until the end of June, which is good. I’m not sure if I’d want it to be extended further though- it’s an interesting department, and I’d look at getting a proper job with them, but I basically only get to do the boring bits as the more interesting stuff involves more training than it’s worth giving a short-term contractor.
It’s embarrassing. Maintenance schedules were a big part of my working life. The manual says it should be done annually. Found a video online on replacing the batteries for my vehicle; it was dead easy and now everything is okeydokey.
Afternoon all. Soccer practice got cancelled again, we had a couple periods of rain so while things are clear right now, the fields have been judged to wet to play on. And we’re almost assured of a big storm tomorrow.
So today has not been too active, did do some filing and stuff, and shoe’s issue made me think that I need to pull my lockbox out and dig out my passport and shot records to take with me on Firday.
Need to get the 2sday Mac-n-Cheese going here shortly.
nona, a most Happy Birthday to you.
quietly, cookie, I changed key fob batteries about a year ago, actually remembered that the batteries could get low when I started having problems.
flyboy, unfortunately you can’t write anything that is foolproof, because fools are so ingenious… Hope things work out. Been testy a few time too…
OK, need to prepare sustenance. All y’all have a good evening.
