Topics You Can't Shut Up About

My oldest son and his wife fill Facebook with every minute detail of their P90X fitness obsession (what they do, what they eat, etc.).

  • History. Often, but not always, military history.
  • MST3K

Food.

These are a few of my favorite things.

But the topics I can’t shut up about are urbanism/transit and jazz.

Hockey

Aquairums and fresh water fish (Celtling is the only person left in my life who is willing to go to a pet store with me.)

Whatever New Scientist article I just read

Celtling and how utterly wodnerful she is.

Comics

Anime

Titties

WoW

The Cleveland Indians (very hard to find someone to start that conversation with)

The American health care system

Last week I spent 5 hours in a car with a friend who can’t shut up about beer or Wal-Mart (where he works). I don’t think I really talked the whole time. But I sure learned a lot about beer and Wal-Mart.

Bicycles at the moment. I can talk nonstop forever about racecars, but I know most people don’t want to hear about it. You can’t convince me that not everyone on this planet doesn’t want to hear about bikes though.

Lately I’ve been feeling like it’s all been said. Maybe it’s the late Summer blahs?

When I’m on my game it’s about balance in living, health and my kitties with a good dash of foolishness thrown in for fun.

Everything. I am The King Of Random Bollox, and I also have a doctorate in Advanced Waffling.

The Texas Rangers

Alice Cooper

My dog.

The Man, and how he owns our collective ass.

Books.

Boys.

My hair.

Mormonism.

And whatever book I happen to be reading.

And if I’m reading a book about Mormonism, you should probably just avoid any conversation with me because I will accidentally turn it into an attack on Mormonism.

My children, my daughter especially.

Myself, even though I’m pretty boring.

The importance of eating healthfully and exercising.

Being black. Black music, culture, slang. More specifically, poor black culture, or ghetto culture.

It’s not that I can’t shut up about it once I get started. It’s more that I’m always bringing it up. I know it’s annoying. I’m working on it.

My tumor.

Deckard: Replicant.

Lord Horatio Nelson

Sir Isaac Newton

Wilbur Wright
