For various reasons I won’t go into, I’m doing soe research on Eleusinian mysteries. (Well, only in theory, since obviously I’m on the Dope right now. ) My Googling has led me, to, among others, this page. Is the information there useful? Hell if I know. The background color and art is so irritating that I refuse to read anything but the byline, and that only so that I can slap the persons responsible with a wet trout if I ever meet them.
Which brings me to the thread topic. Give us links to web pages that piss you off for whatever reasons: stupidity of content, tendency of eyestrain, lack of naked pictures of Taye Diggs, whatever. Just remember to keep it work safe.
I think that the site for the karate system in which I have a black belt - Tracy’s Kenpo - is the worst Web site on the Web that is still updated on a regular basis.
I asked my parents to order me a Tracy’s embroidered hoodie for Christmas and warned them about trying to navigate the site. I was absolutely floored that they managed to order something from all that mess, and wear my hoodie proudly every day.
I’m not sure if this is what the OP is looking for. There’s nothing wrong with the site, but it’s a clearinghouse for bigoted emails forwarded by rightwingers. www.myrightwingdad.net/
There’s always this site that I bumped into a few years ago. It’s actually less eye-wateringly bad than it had been. (Barely SFW page about Debra Lafave)
I love the fact that there are photos of gore and violence (9/11, aborted fetuses) on the home page as well as lots of hellfire and damnation rhetoric – and the icon that shows up for the site in the address bar in my browser is a li’l red heart! Ain’t that sweet?
I fell onto I think it was rotten . com, but it had “poetry” in front of it to fake you out. I’m not going there again even to check it out. Memory of the photo of the taxi driver who had been shotgunned in the back of the head haunted me for months.
Oh, yeah. That is horrible, not only for the look and sound of the site but for the self-justifying bullcrap about how mini-horse breeders shouldn’t feel guilty for producing a certain percentage of poor, doomed dwarf horses in the process.
