Tosh.0 Premiere - Comedy Central

Anyone else catch this last night?

I’m a big fan of Daniel Tosh’s standup. I really dig his style and think he has pretty smart stuff. So he has a new show on Comedy Central called Tosh.0 where he makes fun of stuff he finds online, everything from YouTube clips to Twitter posts to blogs. I wasn’t sure if it would be any good, but I was dying from laughter at some of his bits.

I highly recommend this, especially if you’re a fan of his at all. He’s hilarious and the show feels pretty fresh, even though this type of thing seems to have been done to death lately.

My favorite parts were the pieces where he caught up w/ “Afro Ninja” and where he challenged himself to eat a tablespoon of cinnemon, eat 12 soda crackers, and break 100 coconuts w/ his bare hands in under a minute. It was awesome.

Here is a link to the official site w/ videos. Check out"Extreme Salvia Challenge" if you get a chance.

I heard him interviewed on The Bob and Tom Show (am morning syndicated radio) about the show and I’d meant to give it a look. He is a funny mo-fo. Guess I’ll have to edit my DVR list, or I’m sure I’ll forget again.

I never heard of him before the show and I thought it was surprisingly funny. I could have sworn there was a laughtrack, but no, it was in front of an audience.

Like the OP, my favorite part was when he spoke with Afro Ninja. It was nice to see the story behind the guy that I laughed at hundreds of times.

He sometimes makes me laugh. After a while his deliver gets on my nerves, but I can’t put my finger on why.

He’s a standup??? The opening monologue was done very poorly, I wondered if he had ever been in front of an audience before. Very awkward timing.

I love Dave Attell but their interaction just didn’t work.

I think pieces like Afro Ninja are going to be the best part. Coming up: Caitlin Upton (“maps and such”).

I thought it seemed like Attell’s part was prerecorded and Tosh had trouble syncing up his part with the recording. Not sure though.

He does hilarious stand-up. However most of his stand up is never preplanned and is based a lot on the audience. I once saw him twice in two weeks in separate locations and each show was completely different. I’m sure doing a scripted monologue is a lot harder for him.

It was amusing… waiting to form a full opinion after seeing a little more. I liked the clips more than him, though.

I thought for sure he was standing in front of a green screen working to a laugh track, which would account for how stiff he looked. Maybe it’ll get better.

I found the show unwatchable, but maybe at 40 I’m just too old to “get” the humor of making ironic comments about stuff.

I felt the same way.

When I saw the previews for this at first I thought it was some one time thing about the internet, but when i actually paid attention to the commercial i saw that it was an actual series.

Daniel Tosh is hilarious, but I was worried that this show would suck, but I was laugh/crying at some of the clips…his commentary to the slow down of the coconut chopping clip was hilarious.

Can’t wait to see it next week.
