They’re not bad by themselves, but trying to eat salsa with them is an abomination.
They’re good with hummus. But then, I put lime in my hummus, which could explain why it tastes good.
Yeah, pretty much any of the snack chips labelled ‘limon’ or lime or what-not have always tasted like fruit loops to me, always. Think the first ones I saw like that were over a decade ago, and they apparantly haven’t changed a thing. It’s gross. And I love limes. And fruit loops! But…yeah. It’s a disconnect that my taste buds just can’t get over.
Shame, since the pepper jack and jalepeno ones are very tasty.
Yeah, I was excited to see the flamas chips because my favorite Doritos EVER were the flaming hot ones that they, for some stupid reason, stopped making.
So I tried the flamas, and have been scraping the taste off my tongue ever since. Yuck.
I find them abominable.
I like them. They taste like lime and salt. Not really getting the ‘sweet’ vibe that seems to be putting people off here.
All flavored chips are disgusting. I can’t see how anyone can think they are better than the pure, unadulterated real thing.
When they were first released they didn’t sell them in Canada and all of my american friends had orders to bring bags when they visited. One in particular was trying to be a smart ass and brought a case. I plied him with alcohol in appreciation. They are now available here so I am happy but I would never put them in nachos. They are best appreciated all on their own.
Old Dutch makes a Lime Salsa spoon (spoon shaped chips) which are excellent but right after I became addicted my local store stopped carrying them. I’m still on the lookout for a new supplier.
Clearly, you have never tried Tostitos “Hint of Bacon” tortilla chips.
Old Dutch’s Hint of Lime tortilla chips are possibly my favourite chip - I only buy them occasionally because the bag disappears much quicker than any other snack food. I don’t care for the Tostitos Hint of Lime, though - it just doesn’t have the right lime flavour.
For a real hint of lime chip without any sweetness, try the tortilla chips at Chipotle.
I love them! I get no sweet taste off them at all. They are one of my favorite chips.
I find them interesting, but I definitely don’t seek them out for consumtion. The lime powder feels kind of gritty or something and is overly sweet. They’re good with another taste added like salsa or something hot.
Hmmm one of things doesn’t belong here
I have to agree with Blaster. I like them with salsa. Not so much alone.
And here I was going to say I can’t eat 'em plain, but I love them with guacamole!
