Tostito's Touch Of Lime tortilla chips are disgusting!

:eek:Well I asked someone else to do a blind taste test on these, they asked me if they were soaked in orange juice!

They smell and taste a bit like Fruity Pebbles or some other kind of sweet fruity corn cereal, I was expecting a hint of lime not orange flavored sugar!

A whole fucking plate of nachos ruined basically:mad:

I haven’t had those, but a lot of these “lime-flavored” chips I get just remind me of lime Froot Loops. I just can’t eat anything with that powdered lime stuff on it without thinking breakfast cereal.

I love those chips.

Sorry.

To me they taste like someone crushed up a few lime lifesavers, sprinkled them onto the chips, and gave the bag a a good shake.

Wha? Lime flavored chips taste sweet to you?

Weird.

YES^ I think the problem is they added sugar, I’ve been known to squirt some lime juice into my tortilla chips and tacos and fajitas, these chips don’t taste like lime juice they taste like lime candy.

Oh man, you kidding me? Those things are delicious! And evidently popular, considering they’ve expanded their “Hint of…” line.

They can’t be any worse than the Mt Dew-flavored Doritos from a few years back. Which were made even worse by the fact that they were a “mystery flavor”, so you didn’t even know in advance what you were getting into.

Really? I don’t remember that. If there’s anything that could make Mountain Dew even more disgusting, I think chip form would be it.

Yeah, those Hint of Lime chips are terrible! The Hint of Jalapeño are even worse! That’s why I’ve been systematically trying to eat every one…to, er, save the rest of you.

They do, indeed, contain sugar:

Now that I look at the packaging, I do think I’ve had those, and those do taste like Froot Loops to me. Yuck.

I love 'em. But you have to eat them plain–they don’t go with anything much.

Now, the Limon chips I’ve tried, those are horrible. They taste like lemon cookies and chips smashed together.

I’ve tried them. They’re not bad, but not something I’d want to eat all the time.

I am right at your shoulder, helping to save others from the horror of Hint of Lime chips. Those fiends at Tostito’s just keeping making more. We have to step up our efforts.

You can give them to me as I love the hint of lime chips. They used to have a flavor called lime and chili that was freakin’ awesome.

The hint of lime chips aren’t really all that good by themselves, I’d rather eat plain tortilla chips. However, with hot salsa, I like the contrast against the spiciness better than the plain ones.

Doritos “Flamas” flavor seems to be attempting this - screaming hot peppers with lime. Except I find those completely inedible. The hot pepper flavor is awesome, but somehow the lime comes chasing after the spiciness, despite being on the same chip (you’d think you’d taste both at once, but no, you taste the spicy peppers and then the lime a moment later). That lime is so overpowering that I couldn’t even make it through half a bag.

Last time I had them, the problems I had were the sweet taste and that it wasn’t a “hint” of lime by any means. I like lime in spicy food, but ugh, not those chips.

We love them, and I buy nothing else. However, I normally buy Store Brand, and their “hint of lime” are not sweet at all, at least to me. I haven’t tried the Actual Tostito brand.

Yeah, not a fan. I discovered something else that adds a touch of lime to tortilla chips: limes.
