There’s a trailer posted now for Season 6 of “24”.
I’d consider it a spoiler I guess, some questions from last season seem to have been answered right in the trailer, so if you want to come into the new season with a blank slate, don’t click !
Season 6 Trailer
Unclear how to proceeed discussion unless we do it all in spoilers …
My suggestion is to make your next post a big warning: “SPOILERS FROM TRAILER BELOW” and discuss anythying else from the trailer in the clear.
The OP and the first reply have no spoilers from the trailer – so people can decide after reading the OP (whether to watch it and whether to read the rest of the thread.
Meh. It’s getting a bit old. Jack is asked to sacrifice himself yet again, gets tortured once again, sacrifices everything once again…
Would something fresh be too much to ask?
I was thinking the same thing. I hate to prejudge the whole season based on a minute or so of footage, but I’m disappointed they couldn’t come up with anything more original than a series of suicide bombers. For one thing, we’ve seen that actually happen repeatedly in the real world – as opposed to some fantastic scenario like terrorists trying to remotely meltdown nuclear power plants. It’s a little difficult to get excited about seeing a fictionalized version of something like that.
For another thing, they are apparently going to hinge the entire season on the question of whether or not Jack will die. Considering that most 24 fans know Sutherland is under contract for two more seasons after this one, that seems like a lousy way to build suspense.
And Wayne Palmer as President? Wayne?? I like the guy, but come on . . . everybody knows we need President Aaron Pierce!
Jack comes back on a big plane (C130?) from China, with that chinese ambasador with him. Jack now has a huge beard and has obviously been there for a while, and it appears that Wayne Palmer has been elected President in this time. Though that’s not 100%, beause while he said “Mr. President” and it panned to Wayne, that doesn’t mean he’s President. He could have been working for the administration. Anyway, they pickup Jack from the airport, and someone (Curtis?) approaches the Chinese with a gun as they get Jack, but it stops there. Jack then says that he wishes to die for something, rather than nothing, and appears glad to be home to help against the new crisis - tons of terrorist bombings all over the country. They ask Jack to sacrifice himself to save the country (not sure how?), and he’s off again shooting people, and being tortured, and they even showed Chloe several times though she looked a little different. I think that was it.
So much for the hope he’d spend half the season in China doing some undercover work against
Chinese (North Korean?) operatives, or something… IOW I agree with post #7…
Chole, as I’ve mentioned 412 times, has two expressions; fetching and “this smells like sour milk”. In a crunch she can manage a third, “oh hell, I drank sour milk.”
