Due to flight schedules, and strange working hours, I will be trapped in Little Rock, Arkansas for most of next weekend?
Does anyone have any recommendations? The Clinton Library will not be on my list, but there has to be something to see, or more importantly, somplace good to eat…

If you have a car, Hot Springs National Park is worth a day trip.
The zoo is cool if you like them.
Tonight is Jazz at the Afterthought on Kavanaugh.
You missed the Symphony, it’d the 5th I believe.
Juanita’s has good Mexican food, and (on some nights) big-name live music in a very intimate setting.
I don’t know why it wouldn’t be on your list as it’s a great place to visit whether your a fan of Clinton or not. Seriously, it’s worth the 5 bucks it cost to get in to see it.
I’d head to downtown Little Rock on Saturday and look around. You can walk through the River Market, tour the USS Razorback (WWII Era Sub), check out the Arkansas Art & Historic Museum, and my personal favorite the Old Statehouse Museum (it’s free). Most of these places only cost between $2.50-5.00 to tour and they’re all pretty fun. Ride the trolly!!

Outstanding barbeque is to be found at the Whole Hog, which if memory serves is on Cantrell. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
I second a stroll through the River Market District. There’s a couple of art galleries in addition to the museums mentioned already. The Arkansas Museum of Discovery is fun and, coincidentally, located in the River Market area. It’s not the best city in the world, but it’s not the worst either. I spend most of every weekend somewhere down there. Hope you enjoy your stay!

::Sigh!:: I used to feel trapped in Little Rock, too, sometimes. Now it’s where I go on weekends for something to do! (My location, as of this writing, is a dirty liar; I’m in El Dorado, AR.)
I’ll probably be in LR this weekend, in fact! I’m not the one to show you the nightclubs or the music scene, but I’d be happy to meet you for a meal or two and a trip to the River Market or Pinnacle Mountain. (Though I don’t think my knee will let me do much hiking there. I’m seeing a doctor about it tomorrow.)
Any other Arkansas Dopers want to come? FaeryBeth, are you local? I’d love to meet some Dopers again–it’s been lonely since I moved back to AR. We could have the first ever Bear State Dopefest!
